Thanks. That's useful if I need to pull it out. However they don't seem to be defending that any more.

Has anyone had a letter from j2 given to them at an airport during a flight delay saying what was going on and what they were doing about it? If you have I would like to see it. Thanks.

(15) Extraordinary circumstances should be deemed to exist where the impact of an air traffic management decision in relation to a particular aircraft on a particular day gives rise to a long delay, an overnight delay, or the cancellation of one or more flights by that aircraft, even though all reasonable measures had been taken by the air carrier concerned to avoid the delays or cancellations.’

So do our happy experts on this board think that a "particular aircraft on a particular day" means that if the previous flight, your inbound plane, presents a problem and is diverted, it is a knock-on or not a knock-on?

I suppose it comes down to the difference between "particular aircraft" and particular flight. If the words of the regulation said particular flight then you could easily argue that if the immediately preceding flight developed a problem it was a different flight and therefore a knock-on. Whereas "particular aircraft" would suggest that if the problem presented on the plane that was coming to collect you, it's not a knock-on.
