Yes, up to a limit of £10,000 I believe, the solicitors have all the paper work from 2012, only contacted them about 3 weeks ago and now they are writing to Jet2 with a warning before court proceedings.0

Well that's a new one on me in a couple of years on here, so let us know how you get on.
I thought legal protection only covered you for advice or if somebody was taking litigation out against you not the other way round.
You live and learn!
Cheers,

The recent press coverage regarding the CAA and Jet2 has prompted me to get my backside into action and pursue a claim from last summer.
Two of us were on flight LS625 EMA/Heraklion on the 4/7/2014. It was initially delayed due to a tech problem and when we became airborne, we were told it had re-occurred which resulted in us flying in circles for a few hours to burn off fuel prior to landing in Manchester and changing planes. We arrived in HER well after the 3 hour delay mark.
I have read the sticky re FAQ etc and note it says the initial letter or contact should generally be made through the appropriate form generally available on the airlines website. I have trawled Jet2's site and can't find any contact form...do they have one or would an ordinary e-mail/hard copy letter be o.k.?
Also.. is anyone else actively pursuing this flight delay.
And finally a thought... as it has been shown on several occasions that Jet2 appear to be deliberately delaying and obstructing claims, even when they have little or no defence, do you experts out there think there would be any merit in chasing them for additional legal costs if I used a firm of solicitors and it could be shown that Jet2 had initially refused a claim when they had no grounds to do so?
And finally finally ... would it not be possible, via this site , to set up a list of flights/dates that are presently being pursued or where people have been successful ...or is that just too much logistically...
And well done to all those contributors who have provided so much useful information
Has anyone had any Joy claiming from Jet2 for the flight below.
We were transported by 2 coaches from Murcia to
Alicante. There were 5 of us on the trip and we have persisted with our claim and received 3 compensation refusals so far. The airline gave us a letter at the airport when waiting to depart and it stated the delay was due to a technical problem. What do we have to do to actually receive compensation. Jet2 seem to be just ignoring anything the courts say and are not paying out.

You won't be able to piggy back on someone else's success. With Jet2 each claimant needs to take them to court and force them to pay out. Unless you are prepared to do this - or instruct a NWNF solicitor to do it for you (for about 30% of your award) - then you'll need to let it go.0 -

I wasn't trying to get a piggy back from anyone. We went as a group, booked as a group so were claiming together as a group.
The guy dealing with our claim used to work for one of the bigger travel agents so knows what he is doing. Was just wanting to know if anyone had received compensation for this particular flight.
We will not just "let it go". Whose side are you on ?!!!0 -

This is what Jet2 have just informed the CAA about how they are dealing with delays caused by technical issues.
2. Are you paying passenger claims for compensation that fall within the scope of the Jet2 v Huzar judgment?
We are paying claims for compensation where the sole cause of the delay is a technical defect within the scope of the Jet2.com v Huzar judgment. Following the judgment of the Liverpool County Court on 26 February 2015 in the case of Allen v Jet2.com we are not currently issuing new applications to stay proceedings pending the outcome of van der Lans v KLM.
If, as it appears in your case, Jet2 are not telling the CAA the truth, I suggest you inform the CAA of the reason they are refusing to pay you and your party as a matter of urgency.
Following that you should follow Vaubans advice. If you decide to DIY you will get lots of assistance here.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

You were asking if anyone had any success on a flight you're claiming for. Presumably so you can present the airline with the evidence that they have paid out on a previous claim?
To be clear, I'm not making a comment on the "morality" of piggy-backing on someone else's success - but I am saying that this won't cut any ice with Jet2 (or with most other airlines, generally).0 -

Nothing cuts any ice with Jet2 apart from legal action, and even then you need to be prepared for a battle!:mad:0 -
