I only took all the papers to Bott & Co yesterday by hand. They have not come back to me yet, so I am not sure what is happening. Just wanted everyone to see what Jet2 were saying about not being able to claim for flap problems. Hence my long text to ask anyone else what they though of the Jet2 response.0

It is a fairly predictable response. As others have said, Jet2.com play hard (though their arguments are as fundamentally flawed as any other airlines). Nothing will happen with your claim until the Huzar appeal is heard - sometime between April and July - so I wouldn't worry too much for now, as David says.

Its probably a smokescreen. They are probably trying to appear to comply, belatedly, with CPR pre court "etiquette" As they have no proof of posting of September letter, this should cut no ice with a judge.

Jet2.com seem to have one of the bigger post counts on this this sub-forum!
I was delayed some four and a half hours going to budapest from Manchester. We were on the plane receiving a flight safety demo, when we were taken to another gate and left waiting like lemmings for a flight to leave some four and a quarter hours after scheduled departure.
Sent the template letter from here, with a relatively quick response citing 'unexpected flight safety shortcomings' My question is; is it a simple case of responding to their letter asking for a detailed response of the 'unexpected flight safety shortcomings', or is there a particular format to use?0 -

Yes, ask for all the details. They will either tell you or refuse. Either way you will almost certainly need to start legal proceedings. Jet2 have an interesting fleet which always appear to suffer "unexpected flight safety shortcomings" or similar ECs with seemingly every delay, cancellation or DB, requiring you to take legal action.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
