I have a case against Ryanair with Bott solicitors but last time they contacted me it was to say they were waiting on a court judgement before carrying on with individual cases. Has there been such a case?

So I'm wondering if the reason that Ryanair is now paying up for compensation is because the Dawson vs Thomson and Huzar vs Jet2 appeals have both failed. Does anyone know?

This is superbly unhelpful. Things change extremely fast and the FAQs are not as up to date as the cases. If you check the press, you'll see that these cases have been updated in the past few days. It's still valid and useful to raise the question here, as the two year limit will be pertinent to many cases for Ryanair. Different claimants may here earlier than others and so it's useful to many to have it raised again here.

Speaking personally, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect posters to read the FAQs (which have in fact been kindly updated by others to include latest developments), and other most recent posts, before asking general questions already answered (sometimes many dozens of times). Not least because, unless posters hand over their claim to a NWNF company, they'll have to read all this stuff anyway.

I turned up at the airport yesterday 5.30am for a flight to go out at 7.15 everyone boarded they then announced a flight delay up to 2 hours they we're selling drinks, then they announced for everyone to collect there belongings leave the plane and collect your suitcases someone would come and talk to us from ryan air no one did everyone went to ryanair complaining they then shut up there counter and went no real explanation to anyone, no compensation got home to find a email at 10.39am 24th June saying flight cancelled what good is that when we are at the airport.
But since looking into it again it was already cancelled on the Monday night 6pm showing links to all there cancelled flights, other airlines were still flying out but coining in on it.
I will be ringing ryanair shortly it's ok saying you can have a refund I am home now and stuck.
Thanks any advice would be great.

Ps ryanair not answering due to high volume of calls.

An unhelpful answer to "Has there been such a case?" would have been to say "yes". I pointed you to a means by which you could find the information. The information on the forum is as up to date as it gets.

Sure, okay, some of the information is in the FAQs, apologies for this. It does however match exactly what I'd already read in the press.

Wanting to hear from anyone who is also has a similar case with Ryanair is still a valid question and hasn't been answered. So I'll ask it again, have any other claimants had a settlement for a claim over six years old?

  • Hi,

This is my first post. I have read the post #622 in detail and I am following it to the letter for a Ryanair flight from Kerry that was delayed by more than 5 hours.

I have got to the point of submitting the ESCP forms and phoned my local court (Maidstone) who despite being an appeal court knew nothing about this procedure. They gave me the address and details of a centralised group in Northampton - who again knew nothing about the procedure. Could someone help me out with which court to use - I could not see it in any posts, happy to use any court that actually knows what the forms are.

    Thanks

You could try and send the links I provided in post 622 to your court at Maidstone, to give them a heads up on the process that they should know about.
If no luck, try the Sheffield Combined Court Centre who processed my claim. Although I am aware of one forum user who has had difficulty when trying to submit their claim to this court.
Any problems get back to me.
    Good luck and keep going...
