Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Ryanair ONLY

Hi, in march this year my family and myself were flying to Australia for my sons wedding. We flew from Dublin to Frankfurt, but on arriving in Frankfurt there was a strike and we had to stay overnight. We flew out the next day to Kuala Lumpur only to find we had missed our connecting flight to Perth. We stayed in Kuala Lumpur all day then flew to Perth that evening. Because of these two delays we missed two nights in a perth hotel, plus out of 14 suitcases we only got 1. The airline we used was Malaysia Airlines. My question is can we claim for delayed flights? Thanx Stonestuff.0

My guess is that if the delay were caused by industrial action you can't. Who was striking?
Also you've posted on the Ryannair thread!0 -
OMG!!! Having not received a reply from Ryanair within the 14days I gave them. Today I took my court papers to the post office, only to just log on now and find an email from RA stating that a cheque will be in the post in next two weeks. I am in shock. Thanks for your help guys :j0

Pleased to hear it- well done!
That's two cases I've heard of where RA have just paid what is due without getting involved in a legal battle.....
....maybe time is up for their 261/2004 'we'll fight every claim department', so they can curb costs and actually pay out what their levy, every consumer pays is supposedly in place for....maybe you never know.Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.

Hey everyone,
I posted here probably about this time last year asking for advice about a Ryanair flight that was delayed for just over 3 hours with no reason given.
I sent the standard letter to them and they replied saying that they dont compensate for reasons out their control but still didnt give the reason. So I filled in the CAA form, they replied saying they were busy but would get around to it.
Didnt hear anything for about 8 months and almost forgot about it until Ryanair sent me an email saying that a cheque was in the post!
This was a couple of months ago but wanted to thank the forum for the advice here and was pretty happy. Didnt really want to start submitting court claims so was pleased CAA came through.0 -
Following your advice just received £320 for 10 hr delay in Jan 2014-miracles do happen.:j0

Well done! And again I'm very pleased to hear it....
More evidence that RA's 261/2004 claims department is going to be 'used as resource elsewhere' ?
They're softening I tell you.....
...post Huzar and Dawson maybe even more so...Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.

Two swallows don't make a summer..... Has the sun got you this weekend?
Actually it's three cases, and yes too much sun and long days this weekend have taken it's toll!!!
But from hardball in each and every case, to surrender without a fight in admittedly less than a handful of cases ....winds of change at RA HQ?Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.

So I'm wondering if the reason that Ryanair is now paying up for compensation is because the Dawson vs Thomson and Huzar vs Jet2 appeals have both failed. Does anyone know?
I'm waiting on a claim for a flight in 2009 so it would be fantastic if that were the case.May'18 DEBT FREE!
