    Hello Forumites,

Hoping for some pointers. I booked via a third party for a return trip LBA-VLC on Ryan Air. The return on 9.05.2023 was
    Valencia
    Spain
    Dublin
    Ireland
    13:15
    15:05
     and
    Dublin
    Ireland
    Leeds
    United Kingdom
    16:50
    17:55
I bought a cabin bag for each leg of the journey.
On 21 April, Ryanair emailed that my trip was rescheduled Valencia (VLC) to Dublin (DUB)
Tue 09May2023 Depart VLC at 2050 and arrive DUB at 2240
There was a link in the mail for a refun, but it only allowed for the first flight, not the second one which I couldn't make with the 7+hr delay. Nor the bags I'd bought.
I rang Ryanair and after they sent me an email to confirm because I'd booked through a third party (though I could already see the flights in my online account). I called back and the CS told me both flights (would be cancelled) and bags would be refunded in 7 days. She wouldn't give me a reference but said all calls were recorded. I took her name.
I then booked another return flight from Valencia to Manchester for the same day. There was no other option to get back to Leeds that day.
On returning from my trip I saw there hadn't been a refund. When I mailed Ryanair with the details of the call, they sent me a standard reply directing me to links for various situations. I mailed again that the CS had assured me of a refund, and they haven't replied after 4 working days.
Can I hold them to what the CS promised me? If so, how do I go about claiming?
If not, do I ask them to confirm a deadlock so I can go to the ADR?
Should I claim compensation on their website in the meantime?

    Many thanks
This will be the responsibility of whoever you booked through and subject to their terms in law. You have paid a third party to book a service for you and the third party has done this.

You have no relationship to Ryanair for that booking. Ryanair do not sell connecting flights.

There wouldn't be any compensation due for a schedule change notified more than two weeks in advance?

As always you're welcome, sorry to be blunt.

I will admit to self-connecting often but this is always on the understanding that if something falls apart it's my problem to sort.

I normally do this to Poland with a flight the following morning to my home country, it leaves a dash available for a last minute flight (which will be insurable under my policy minus £50pp excess) in scope. I rarely do it same day without a lot of clearance for the reason you've described above.

My home country is band B for APD purposes so there are savings to be had, rarely is this found in mainland Europe in general on the same level.

My friend booked our flight but quite likely may not think it worth pursuing. I do ! How can I claim on our behalf if I’m not the person book the tickets?

it is the passenger that is entitled to compensation rather than the booker. There will be information on the Ryanair site to submit a claim. Does your friend think it is not worth pursuing due to the reason for the delay?

    This exactly.

What was the reason for the delay? If it was outside the reasonable control of the airline (there's a lot of case law on this and we can help if needed) then compensation will be due. If not it won't be.

In many cases it's always worth attempting a claim in any event.

Well, after 8 months of fighting for it I have had confirmation from ADR that the rerouting costs I had after Ryanair left us stranded abroad are to be paid in full. All £1263 of it. Happy days.

My question now is this. Has anyone else had a successful claim through ADR and is this really the end of it? I have sent my bank details. Do Ryanair admit defeat at this point and pay up, or am I likely to expect yet more delaying tactics?
My instincts were right. I am still waiting for the refund despite ADR finding in my favour. I have messaged ADR to ask what I need to do now. This is money owed to me for over 8 months now.

I will NEVER fly with Ryan air again. I have already taken my business elsewhere - two holidays this year that would have gone to RA in the past. Without doubt the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

So, the 'completion date' for the payment of the money awarded to me by ADR has been moved forward for another two weeks now that Ryanair missed the first deadline. Does anyone else have experience of this? Any idea how long they can string this along?

I also finally got a positive answer from ADR. Ryanair owe me £600 and I've filled in the bank details so just waiting to be paid
