though I did think that expenses could be claimed on top of the 250 Euro "compensation",

the expenses referred to in the claim form relate to expenses incurred at the departure airport whilst delayed. No claims once they get you to the correct arrival airport

Ah ok...I assumed you could claim for hotels at the destination as I'd missed all the last transport options home due to the delay.

However, I should have claimed for the food I had at the airport as they only applied a 4 euro voucher to the boarding pass, and the cheapest sandwich was 6 euros.

Good to know if it ever happens again (I fly Ryanair a lot and this is the first meaningful delay)

EDIT - the money went into my account today, a week after their email confirming the 250 euro compensation. So, a smooth process all round, using the form on their website to claim.

Submitted refund form due to rescheduled flight nearly 2 weeks ago. Still awaiting funds back in my account.
At that time it clearly stated refunds within 7 days, allow 5-7 days for banking process. Fair enough.
    But:
    1. No email conmfirmation received.  Trip still showing on my account and if I try to re-submit refund claim if errors - I hope this is because the refund is being processed.
    2. The refund page now states 20 days for refund. This is a clear breach of EU regualtions whcih state within 7 days.
    O'Leary breaking the law, again.

    Hi,
I have issued an online small claim from here in Northern Ireland against Ryanair for compensation and extra expenses (new flights etc). Claim papers were issued 2 March 2020 with a return date of 13th April. I used Ryanairs Stansted Airport address (Ryanair UK) as defendant address.
Today, I have received a letter from solicitors representing Ryanair UK telling me that I am sueing the wrong company and it should be Ryanair DAC based in Dublin.  They then say they are happy for me to amend the defendant from Ryanair UK to Ryanair DAC but it is my responsibility to contact the court to do this.  If I do not, they say the court may refuse my claim as its brought against the wrong company.
This is all well and good, but they then end the letter by asking me to provide receipted proof of my expenses and can they correspond with me.
    My questions are.
1  Why do they ask me to amend the details when they could just reply to the claim by the return date and dispute the legality of the company name?
2  Why ask for receipts etc if they are so confident my claim would fail as its the wrong company name?

I have emailed then to test the water to see if they are willing to settle the matter but would appreciate any insight or advice.
    Thanks

They have done the decent and professional thing in pointing out that you have sued the wrong company (assuming that you have),.  If the case proceeds you will indeed have to amend the claim to sue the correct company although in a small claims case this would probably be done informally.  There is nothing inconsistent about their asking for receipts. They are working on the assumption that you will probably correct your error and the case would proceed against the correct company and if you have a valid claim they want to see iof it can be settled.
I don't know why you've asked for advice as what to do when you've already done it but you should have thanked  them for pointing out the error and sent them the receipts and anything else you have to prove your claim on the basis that you will have to do it at some point.  The only downside to all this is that Ryan Air DAC might argue about having to pay the Court fee. I would see what happens.

    Thanks for the reply legal-magpie
An update on this.  After several emails and receipts sent, surprise surprise they say their clients are still refusing to reimburse me for expenses.  They have also filed notice of dispute “on behalf” of Ryanair DAC to comply with court proceedings.  I have asked court to amend respondent address but due to current circumstances have yet to receive confirmation .  Because of covid 19 can’t see a hearing anytime soon but suppose have to comply with court on dates and such.  It’s just all a bit confusing as they claim not to represent Ryanair but supply a defence?

The answer the answer is simple. Although you have sued the wrong company, they can't simply ignore it or you could get judgement against them. All you need to do is to amend your claim to substitute the correct defendant ( it is NOT simply a change of address). The technicalities will be sorted out and you will be able to concentrate on the merits. But please realise that the Courts are in turmoil at present.

Has anyone had a problem receiving flight delay payment  having used a Halifax Clarity credit card - they will not accept the IBAN codeGB38LOYD30675699067997 which Halifax tell me is their only generic code. I asked Ryanair to put it into my current account but they refuse Halifax say they can do nothing more - Ryanair will do nothing more so I am at a loss?!!

I'm surprised you need to supply anything like that as they normally repay to the card used for payment whose details they already have.  However, the IBAN you give appears on this page as a valid one for paying a Halifax credit card so don't know why Ryanair can't use it.  I think they would also need your credit card number or account number (but again should have this) to tag on the end of it.
