Check if your aircraft is based in Spain as the cabin crew strike should affect only routes operated by Spain based aircrafts.
The easiest way to do that, is by checking flight history on FlightRadar24.com on the day of week your flight will be.
Also if your flight has early departue (about 6-7am) from Spain or has late arrival (22-24) to Spain, the aircraft is probably based there.0 -
Thanks. Flight looks to originate Malaga, given the time of departure. Sites still showing it's scheduled and I can't find anything else online about the strikes (even if they're definitely on!). Don't want to lose my last few days worrying, would much rather proactive - :-)
If your flight gets cancelled you should not request or accept a refund of your flight. Instead ask to be re routed asap and remain in the airlines care.
They must look after you until the next flight is available, which means
food, drinks, hotel (if required) and transport to/from the hotel.
All alternative arrangements should be made by the airline. If they refuse, which you should expect, you can make your own arrangement and keep all receipts to claim your costs back at a later date.
If they want to delay you by 24hrs(est) or more, and don't offer you an alternative flight with another airline, you could book that yourself and then claim it back, minus the refund cost of the unused flight with RA.

So, I’m biting the bullet and going through the ESCP guide (thanks Dr Watson), I think it’s the only chance I have of seeing any money after Ryanair withdrew from the ADR scheme days after they found in my favour. I’ve had no response from ADR to my queries about what happens next.
Can I ask those of you more knowledgeable on these matters than I am - given I have several pieces of correspondence on this matter between myself and Ryanair, plus the ADR determination - should I still send a LBA?0 -

Well, it depends what you are looking to achieve. If you are not looking for Ryanair to cover the cost of any rerouting then there's nothing wrong with getting your flight refounded. Getting a refund has no bearing on your right to compensation.
As for your case, Ryanair has recently withdrawn from AviationADR so that's likely a dead end at this stage.0 -
If you request a refund but re-route yourself (as Ryanair and other airlines refuse to do this) it could potentially make it more difficult to re-claim your expenses as they may claim you have relieved them of their obligations under 261/2004.
Alas, many airlines push a refund without informing the passenger of their re-routing rights.

In July I was delayed by over 5 hours. I wrote to Ryan air and they said the claim was upheld and asked for my bank details. They said the money would be in the account within 28 days but it never got paid. I wrote to Ryan air who said it ahd been paid on Oct 3rd and sent me a reference number. I asked my bank and they said the payment was sent to the bank but Ryan air never put the account number, only the IBAN so it was returned.
Ryan air said they would resend it but it never went in and are now saying they will not pay it as it ws paid on Oct 3rd even though the bank said it was impossible to say who it was meant for as there was no number.
Any help would be great. CAA say they can't help as the flight was from Tenerife to the UK.0 -

The reason I made that particular suggestion to ronnocs is because he/she could soon be stranded due to a cancellation.
When a flight is cancelled the airline is obliged to give you a triple choice.
A. reimbursement within seven days
B. re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at the earliest opportunity
C. re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at a later date at the passenger's convenience
If A is chosen the airline is immediately absolved of all care responsibilities, so no meals, hotel etc your'e on your own.
The airlines often suggest this option to you without explaining the ramifications or alternatives as it is the best (cheapest) option for them.Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

You will need to use the ESCP (euro small claims process) to get payment from RA. As they have admitted liability and have not provided any proof of payment, they will have no defence.
Send them an LBA/NBA giving 14 days to pay. In the meantime search for Dr Watson's excellent notes on the procedure.
