1) Check on sites such as bottonline to see if they indicate compensation is due
2) Read Vauban's Guide and posts by Dr Watson on this (Ryanair) thread
3) Decide whether the 'experts' think you have a case and if so if you want to DIY or NWNF
4) Given the situation you outline my inclination would be to NWNF if the NWNF are prepared to 'take on'.0 -

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Bottonline indicated that compensation is due.
I read Vauban's guide - which I think leads me to go down the NWNF route now.

My flight back from Frankfurt Hahn last week was delayed by over 4 hours, so I put a claim in via Resolver, fully prepared for a long haul before any response and then an ongoing battle over whether the delay constituted extraordinary circumstances.
That was yesterday. Today I got an email...We sincerely regret the delay of your flight FR753 from Frankfurt-Hahn to Stansted on the 02/11/2016, which was caused due to an unexpected technical fault with the aircraft due to operate your flight.
I wish to confirm that a credit/debit card payment to the value of 226.25 GBP (equivalent to 250.00 EUR per full fare paying passenger) has been authorised in full and final settlement of your claim and in accordance with Article 7 of EU Regulation 261/2004
Colour me very, very surprised indeed! Course, have to wait and see if the money actually comes through, but I never dreamed they would respond the next day, nor that they would accept the claim without quibbling.
And no, for anyone wondering, I don't work for them!0 -
silvercar,
They've been trying to stall you (and Bott's) with your claim since you started the process.
They aren't going to stop now.
Yes Bott's will follow this up, (they are aware of the mechanisms needed to execute the order in Eire) but RA gamble on the average litigant not knowing this and, naively thinking that RA will now pay up.
They don't, regardless of the court order. It needs executing and that is what the Dublin County Sheriff's will do.
Then and only then will RA pay up.
You are nearly there though.......
Good luck and keep going.I've been waiting since mid July. Not heard anything further and Bott & co haven't responded to emails.Used social media to get a response in the end.
Turned out to be a catalogue of errors that basically meant nothing has happened for the last 3 months.
They have now been prompted into action. Wondering if you can get compensation for a NWNF firm making mistakes!
At last...Bailiffs have recovered funds from RA.
Now just need to wait for bailiffs to hand over money to court, for court to hand over to Bott & co and Bott & co to pay me!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Cheque received today from Ryanair for £445.17 following five and a half hour delay on the above flight.
Decided to use Bott Sols to pursue claim, having had a terrible experience in Bromley County Court trying to pursue a claim myself against Thomson last year.
Well worth using Bott Sols even if you feel competent as you never know if the judge will give you a fair hearing or refer to matters not given in evidence as happened in my case against Thomson.
So pleased to be successful this time.0 -
Today must have been Ryanair's day for settling accounts, because my compensation was paid today, 15 days after they agreed to do so.
I'm quite impressed actually. Can only hope anyone else experiencing similar delays gets an equally prompt resolution.0 -
- fr3172 east mids to lanzarote on 6th dec
- after boarding advised of technical default and disembarked back to terminal
- replacement aircraft sent from dublin but could not land in east mids due to fog and diverted to manchester.
- coached to manchester and arrived in lanzarote over 8 hours late against the schedule arrival time for the original east mids flight.

If you post on the Ryanair thread (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4384705) you might get more responses. (Also helps keep the forum tidy - cheers!)0

Yes they could - and almost certainly will. So you'd need to take this to court. I don't know what a judge would say. I would argue that compensation depends upon how much delay was caused by the technical failure - did it take three hours or more for them to get you another plane? If it was a relatively short delay, and you then got caught up in weather, I don't think you'd have a claim. But that's just my view - I don't think there is any clear case law either way.0
