Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Ryanair ONLY

I might need help. I have looked through lots of bits of info to do with claiming compensation. I have just had a 4 and half hour delay from Ibiza to Manchester on Ryanair this weekend. I opened a case through resolver. Ryanair have been back in touch very quickly saying they do not have to pay as it was bad weather conditions. I however do not believe this to be the case. The Ryanair staff at the airport said that the previous flight wouldn't be leaving Manchester until at least 8pm which was 1 hour and 40 mins after our scheduled flight time. On top of that I also heard that they had to divert a plane earlier in the day which caused a knock on effect. Either way no other flights with other operators were cancelled or delayed, just ours. I have written back asking them to provide a report detailing the bad weather conditions and also the info that we were told in the airport. Does anybody know of anything else I can do as I truly believe they are lying about the weather conditions, and definitely wasn't relating to our flight anyway it was for an earlier flight if it was the case as our plane didn't arrive in Ibiza to take us home to Manchester until at least 4 hours late. I don't know where I stand or what to do but I do believe we are entitled to compensation which Ryanair are denying. Thanks in advance any and all input appreciated0

Gypsyblades - read Vauban's Guide and posts by Dr Watson on the Ryanair thread and then decide whether to DIY or NWNF. Also you could try one of the NWNF checking (Bott & Co) sites to confirm your entitlement.0

I did use the bots checker thing and sent a screen shot to Ryanair showing that all checks were passed and I was entitled to the 400 euros each. I will have a look at the other thing though thanks x0

Was your flight on 22/10/16? No other flights except one, were delayed by the margin yours was. And 2 other Ryanair flights left Ibiza within the hour without delay.
If you haven't already done so, you need to download and read Vauban's guide. Generally, weather is only an EC if it directly affects your flight. Use flight stats to see what other flights were delayed from your airport in Ibiza. And also check what other flights were delayed from Manchester.
You probably need to resend your letter of complaint - forget resolver as its got you nowhere on this occasion, give them 14 days then send an NBA. Have you checked if Botts online show you are due compensation? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

They are Lying about the weather! My wife was booked on the 10.05 from Manchester to ibiza and actually went through the gate, only to be told they had to go back into the terminal building. They weren't told until around 1.00pm that another aircraft was taking them. She arrived in Ibiza at around 6.00pm0 -
If the weather was OK in Ibiza and it was the flight coming to pick you up which was delayed at it's departure airport by bad weather you were caught in it what is called a knock on effect and you are due compensation
Download and read Vaubans guide and get a letter before sent to Ryaniar It is over 1500km so €400 per person is due.0 -
Hi,
Can anyone please give me some quick advice.
I have recently been delayed on a Ryanair flight for over 10 hours on a flight from the Canary Islands to the UK.
The flights were booked initially as a group of 5 adults and paid for by myself on the one credit card, several days later my nephew who is 13 year old was added to our booking using his mothers credit card and details. Due to his age he was linked to our booking by Ryanair.
Should I submit two separate claims as Ryan air are quite specific about sending bank details and account numbers / IBAN numbers etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
Help!
Flight FR2314 London Stansted to Bratislava departing at 08.30, arriving 11.45.
Confirmed by Ryanair: Flight FR2314 from London Stansted to Bratislava arrived with a 3 hour(s) 31 minute(s) delay
I applied for compensation via Resolver, which was rejected by Ryanair:
‘We sincerely regret the delay of your flight FR2314 from London Stansted to Bratislava on the 11/10/2016, which was due to adverse weather conditions (low visibility), outside of our control.
However, as this delay was unexpected and therefore outside Ryanair’s control we regret to advise that no monetary compensation is due under EU Regulation 261/2004.
Please note that this letter contains our final position in relation to your complaint. If you are unhappy with our decision, you can take your complaint to Airline Dispute Resolution, which is an independent, impartial scheme operated by The Retail Ombudsman. We are a member of this scheme and have agreed to be bound by its decisions. Their contact details are as follows:

I then proceeded to raise a case with the retail ombudsman – who have now rejected:
“This complaint concerns Ryanair flight no FR2314 From Stansted to Bratislava, which was scheduled to leave at 08:30 on 11 October 2016 (“the Flight”).
Ryanair has said that a previous incoming Bratislava - Stansted flight had to be diverted to Luton due to fog at Stansted, with the result that the Flight was delayed and arrived in Bratislava three hours and thirty one minutes late. As a consequence, Mr X lodged a claim for compensation in accordance with EU Regulation 261 (“the Regulations”).
Ryanair rejected the compensation claim. They say that because the delay was caused by fog, this is an “extraordinary circumstance”, and is therefore an absolute defence to the requirement to pay compensation under the Regulations.
From the information provided I determine that Ryanair is entitled to rely on the “extraordinary circumstances” exception from the Regulations to refuse to pay compensation and that there were no other reasonable measures it could have taken.
In the circumstances Ryanair is not obliged to pay compensation.”
This reads like a complete cop-out from Ryanair.
The previous flight did go to Luton (arrived at 8.30am) - I've tracked the flight path online
What’s my next move on this? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.0
