From the CAA website full document here :- http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=33&pagetype=65&appid=11&mode=detail&id=6680

    4. The Dawson v Thomson Airways judgment confirmed that the limitation period in the UK for taking a case to court in respect of the Denied Boarding Regulations is 6 years. Please confirm that you apply this limitation period.

We confirm that we now apply the 6 year limitation period in the UK.

    5. If, for any reason, you apply a different limitation period, please explain what it is, how you apply it in practice (for example through your Terms and Conditions), and why you consider it is not in conflict with the Dawson v Thomson Airways judgment.

    N/A

So is this ruling only "...in respect of the Denied Boarding..."

    howticklediam,
I can see your train of thought, although the regulation and the case law that surrounds it, treats delayed passengers and passengers denied boarding the same.
Regardless of this, its RA saying they do one thing when actually they do another with regard to the regulation and their interpretation of it.

Regulation 261/04 is known as the "denied boarding regulation".

In fact, Vauban correct me if I'm wrong, but in the early years wasn't there one major case that said that the regulation could be interpreted and passengers would be given the same protection as the then known denied boarding regulations, I think I've read snippets on here, but that's going back to Centipede100, Blond Mark and mark2sparks early days?

This is a reply I got from Ryanair today.
    Any advice would be appreciated

While we note your comments regarding the recent Huzar decision, we are taking advice from our legal team following the judgment handed down by Liverpool County Court and until a decision is made on an appeal we are not in a position to consider your request for compensation.
