For anyone following the antics of Ryanair, you may be interested to know that they are appealing the Kelly Barnes Judgement from Liverpool, there is an article about it over on the Allen case result thread....

Kelly Barnes was bundled into what's more commonly called the 'the Allen case' concerning Jet2.

  • Hi
I am about to send off my claim to Liverpool County court. Do I convert the court costs to euros to include in the claim?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ourdeaux,
No keep it in sterling, when you win it will be added to your payout converted into euros.
    Good luck and keep going.

which way do i go now?

i claimed for flight delay compensation to ryanair 2 years ago for a flight from palma to east midlands in sept 2010 with a 3hr 55min delay.

i've just dug out the reply from ryanair rejecting it due to extraordinary circumstances and they also quoted its beyond the 2 year time limit to claim anyway.

have i a shout to re-claim again with the recent court ruling and who do i write to next?
i got confused reading the guides

    korky69,
Depends how far down the process you got with your claim. I take it that you didn't issue court proceedings, and just accepted that Ryanair were right in the reply you received from them?
Both arguments as presented from Ryanair are beatable.
My post #569 explains the process you need to follow step by step.
    Good luck and keep going.

thanks for the reply, i just left it at that after the reply,

never knew the reason for the delay, staff in pmi were awful,
we had to exit departures and go through security again to try and find out, and were bluntly refused refreshments.

have i to send a 2nd letter to ryanair quoting the recent court outcomes or go directly to the next stage,
i cannot see ryanair changing their minds from the reply 2 years ago

    korky69,
If you are going ahead with your claim yourself then yes- do send RA an LBA/NBA with however long you will give them to settle your claim before court action.
Of course, do mention recent court cases:- Huzar, Dawson and the outcome of the Allen combined cases recently at Liverpool. For good measure, mention Wallentin and how this fits with 261/2004.
If you are not going alone, then get in touch with a good NWNF company.
Bott and Co would be this Doctors' prescribed choice.
    Good luck and keep going.
