Absolutely disgraceful behaviour via Flybe, start by reading Vaubans excellent guide, and please, please don't let them get away with the bullsh** .

When will airlines every play fair with passengers? Well until they do, I and others will be here!

    Cheers,

  • I read the guide "Flight Delay Compensation" By Martin and Helen but it is huge.
Could you provide me with more information please? I do not want to accept the 70 pounds voucher.
I cannot understand if I am eligible for the 250 euro. Am I ?
Should I just reply back to claim the 250 euro according to the EU rule 261/2004 ?

    Thanks

  • Thanks, I've just replied back claiming 250 euro. I'll let you know if they reply.
  • They checked again and now they understand and offering 250 euro monetary or 300 pounds credit.!!!!
    Thank you guys.
  • Flight from Aberdeen to Birmingham today was diverted and emergency landing to Manchester had to be performed.

Given the option if waiting over 2 hours for a coach or making our own way home.

Will be speaking to them tomorrow. Currently at Manchester Piccadilly awaiting a train back to my final destination.

A claim under EC261/2004 depends on the reason why the pilot had to make the emergency landing ?

I suspect not a valid claim and that it would fall under the in-flight emergency category, but can't confirm until you give more details, certainly if it was due to a lack of routine maintenance on the plane, then you might have a chance, but passenger illness or extreme weather conditions for example would leave your claim, stranded on the ground - excuse the pun!

  • We were told it was a technical fault with the plane.

Either way, it took 7 hours to get home - at least I can claim for my train ride.

If it was purely a tech with the plane then you may well be able to claim, but it would be messy and Flybe will certainly argue flight safety shortcomings, might be worth just checking your details with Botts flight checker or any NWNF flight checker service, there's nothing to stop you issuing a NBA and see how confident you feel with DIY when you get a response.

The gate would appear to be half open and not half closed :)

  • Good result, email this morning from flybe - and I'm receiving €250 compensation. If it will help, happy to post the reply from them.

    Regards,
    John.
