Been there, done it and got the T-shirt:)
Just like many others here who now help others with the knowledge they gained from the experience.
After 3 years of fighting Jet2 it becomes personal.
Too many people just cannot believe the lengths that the airlines will go to in an effort to avoid paying valid compensation claims. They think the likes of BA are above all that, and then, just like you, they find they're not. They all feed from the same trough!
In all honesty BA came clean pretty quickly, others would have waited until you were on the steps of the court.
It's all a part of life's rich tapestry. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Unfortunately the airlines tapestry is a doormat, treating their fair paying passengers like the unpleasant stuff they would like to wipe of their shoes.
But as we say in Yorkshire - s!!t sticks...If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi
I was recently delayed on my flight to Heathrow from Tokyo by 208 minutes. This resulted on me missing my connecting flight to Paris and being moved to a later flight. The flight to Paris arrived 2 hours and 51 minutes later than I was originally meant to land in Paris.
Am I entitled to compensation for the first leg of the flight being delayed by more than 3 hours?
Thanks for your help0 -
What was your arrival time at Heathrow supposed to be and what time did you eventually land at Heathrow. What was the reason for the delay taking off from Tokyo?
Was it one ticket from Tokyo to London with a change at Paris all with BA0 -
Our arrival time at Heathrow was meant to be 1.05pm and it was actually 4.29pm. Then we arrived in Paris on a later connecting flight at 8.11pm - our scheduled flight was due to arrive in Paris at 5.20pm.
All flights booked with BA on the one booking.
The reason for the delay was the late arrival of the incoming flight from London. This was delayed due to an outage in Swedish Air control I believe.0 -
No. Your final destination is the time for any compensation and you were 2hrs 51 mins late landing in Paris. You need to have been delayed by more than 3 hours sorry.0

Original scheduled flights on 20 May:
Tokyo Haneda Dep: 8.55am - London Heathrow Arr: 1.05pm
London Heathrow: Dep 3.05pm - Paris CDG Arr: 5.20pm
Actual Flights:
Tokyo Haneda Dep: 11.30am - London Heathrow Arr: 4.28pm
London Heathrow Dep: 5.45pm - Paris CDG Arr: 8.11pm0 -
compensation is not paid for a late departure or a shorter connection time, but on delayed arrival time...looks like you are out of luck0

I have just returned from a short holiday in Turin area which was affected by BA cancelling my flights out and return. The substitute flights both incurred delay of more than 5 hours.
Their reason was French air traffic control strike, but easy jet flew to Nice with a delay of only 24 minutes, same time frame as my cancelled outward flight.
I used resolver and for outward claim put the following. I attached evidence of notification and time of landing from flight stats. Is there anything further I need to add?
BA2576 26/05/2016 Cancelled!
BA2576 Scheduled arrival in TRN at 17.20 26/05/2016!
Cancelled flight 25/05/2016 12.41 GMT+1 by text!
Replacement flight BA2578 Scheduled arrival in TRN 19.30 26/05/2016!
actual arrival 22.19
Schedule arrival 17.20 [original flight ]!
Actual arrival 22.30pm!
Delay 5 h. 10 minutes
Reason for delay given was industrial action in France, but this could have been managed by avoiding French airspace, and not by cancelled flight and severe delays to the substitute flight. Additional delays to replacement planes were a] plane was defective, b] second plane wasn't large enough for the combined customers from two flights into one, c] third plane was large enough but when people complained about losing their checked seats, staff offered no assistance and eventually a few individuals chose to give up their seats. We sat on runway for some time. Compensation should have been offered prior to getting on plane to speed up the process and improve our experience.0
