Can't give an opinion until the one ticket/one booked journey or two tickets etc question is answered.
But it seems like a 90 min connection time was too tight anyway? Who's idea was that?

Both flights were booked with BA, we were due to leave at 15.55 to catch a connection at 19.00, so landing as late as we did was a no go, so annoyed that they had us on the 8pm flight to find out they had given the seats away.
  • First of all thank you to MSE for the useful and detailed information for flight delay and cancellation compensations.
My wife and son's BA flight was recently cancelled and they were provided with another flight almost 24hr later.
We used the link on the MSE website to start the claim and here's the timeline:

04-Apr: Claim started on BA website on the expenses compensation link; we claimed for refreshments for about £13 and provided credit card statement as proof of payment. On the same form at the bottom we claimed Euro 600 per person (it was a 3,500KM+ flight) using the text in MSE template. BA automatic reply was issued instantly after submission with case reference number.

06-Apr: Official reply from BA customer service confirming that the GBP equivalent of Euro 1,200 + the £13 refreshments will be credited into my wife's account.

    10-Apr: Money received!

Thanks again MSE and MSE bloggers

Not trying to be awkward but IF YOU BOOKED two separate flights on two separate bookings you have NO claim, if things are slightly more grey there, just may be a chance of a claim.

The crucial question is did you yourself split the flights and chose an onward flight and make two separate bookings ? Or are both flights on the same booking, IE you told BA you wanted to fly from first departure airport and arrive at final destination airport and they said 'NO' you have to have a stop off mid way and we'll arrange that for you and issue tickets accordingly ?

    Cheers,

  • I booked through Expedia, I requested a trip from Manchester to JFK.

I did not choose to split the flights it just so happened that if I wanted to fly from Manchester on this chosen date then we would have to break the journey up not my choice. All four flights with BA, first (and last) time with them first time to JFK it was a very special trip which was spoiled.

    Hope this helps.

It looks like separate flights then.
I can only read it that way, as you still aren't being clear.

So, sorry, but no compensation claim.

    That's the important bit unfortunately
  • That's the important bit unfortunately

I am not sure if I'm making myself clear.

I booked through expedia, one booking which was 2 flights each way so therefore I'm not sure on the ticketing thing, it was just one email and printed 2 boarding passes for each flight not tickets as such as it's all on one booking itinerary rather than 'tickets'.
  • You see as I see it it was one booking for one journey from Man to JFK with BA for the whole thing, they may see it differently.
