Hi everyone, just after a bit of quick advice I guess as never considered anything like this before.
Flew from Cancun to Manchester on Sunday March.
Scheduled departure 17.10
Actual departure 21.15
There was a storm overhead which caused a lot of rain, but planes were still taking off. So although the delay I guess is down to 'weather' the actual fault with my flight was that the previous flight had to land elsewhere and then came to Cancun a lot later on. Don't want to proceed if opinions are that it was just unlucky there was a storm, but likewise if it wasn't a delay with the flight before coming in we would have taken off as normal.
Can't say I was very impressed with Thomson, no reps to ask at the airport and not even offered a bottle of water with no local currency remaining, and consistently being lied about the whereabouts of the plane but that's only a minor inconvenience on the grand scheme of things.
Thanks for the opinions.0 -

Para 14 of the preamble to the regulation says "meteorological conditions incompatible with the operation of the flight concerned". I've always understood this to mean the flight in question as opposed to, say, the aircraft. If the aircraft isn't where it should be because of bad weather, I don't think that is a proper defence.
