  • Good evening
My family and I were on a flight to dalaman turkey back in 2013 from Luton.
Were sure we were delayed approximately by 3 hours, but cannot be sure if it's 2.5 or even 3.5 hours but know it pretty close to the 3hour mark.
Is there a way we can find this info out???
We have a copy of our booking conformation but it only states of original booking and not the delay.

    Thanks in advance

Hi does anyone know what the current turnaround times are for thomson? We've been waiting 90 days for a response now, our letter was received as we have signature proof.
    Cheers

It ought to be quicker than that. Badger them on social media. To be honest they will take as long as you're prepared to give them.
  • Hi Mark..I had no response to my letter to Thomson. I had asked for a reply within 2 weeks. I then wrote giving them 28 days after which I would apply to the County Court for a 'small claim'. Then I found this site and it was immediately clear that Thomson does not reply until they hear from the Court. I don't now expect a reply before my set date of December 8th. I will then file my claim. I'll post any progress. Good Luck. Dave

    Hi All

I've been using Resolver to file a claim against Thomson for a delay of over 16 hours (the flight actually took off on time, then had to return to Manchester due to a problem with the plane. We flew again the next day. The delay was acknowledged with a letter handed out by the Thomson rep upon arrival).

So far I've had little luck. I've escalated my claim twice, and had automated responses saying they would get back to me within 28 and then 56 days respectively. It's now been 9 weeks since the original complaint and I've not actually had any kind of response from a human being. Also, when I last escalated it, the template letter was to Dermott Blastland, CEO, who - I checked on before sending - isn't the CEO of Thomson anymore. I just addressed it to the CEO in the end, but I don't even know if this has reached the right person. Resolver says I can escalate it again in 18 days to CAA.

The question is - do I wait and see if they come back to me eventually, or do I use the phone number on the Resolver website to contact them directly? I'm guessing they're ignoring it until I give up and go away. I've never made any kind of claim before so if I were put on the spot while speaking to someone I worry about being tripped up and turned down on a technicality.

First ever holiday away with my partner (who is petrified of flying) and my 2 year old son. I'm not a big fan of compensation culture that exists today, but given the hassle we had on this occasion I am determined to squeeze whatever I can out of them.

    Any advice welcome, thanks.

I think Grumpyolddave in his post immediately above yours pretty much has it right.

So if it gets to the point where you have to take them to court, what's the process, how do you do this?? Thomson aren't responding to my letters through Resolver so I may have to do this....

I'd start by following a well hidden link in my signature!

I was delayed 19hrs on a flight from Majorca to Bristol due to a 1hr inital delay, then making the pilot running out of flying hours, is this a valid claim ? could Thompson say that the initial 1hr delay was extra ordinary circumstances ? that then made their pilot flying hours expire.

I am at the same a stage as prezzo.

I have also used resolver and all my correspondance have been igorned by Thompson with just a " we have received your comments please allow 28 - 56 days for us to respond" its an auto response, well 56 days are now up.

I was thinking wrting to the CAA.

Reading above from grumpyolddave, isnt a letter to the CAA worth doing anymore either ?
