Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Tui/Thomson ONLY

Well I spoke to Bott & Co via on-line chat and there isn't the 30 days left that they need for notification to Thomson so they can't take it on.
If I start court action myself I am sure Thomson will fight it despite the weather delay being on a previous flight and despite them not having correct information ( lying ) about the incoming fight. I've decided I don't want the hassle of producing the "bundle" and therefore I am putting this claim to bed and will continue to never have anything to do with Thomson flights or holidays again.0 -

If only you'd gone to Bott two years ago when you first posted!
That said, if the basis of your claim is that there was no weather issue affecting your flight, it's hardly requires a complicated bundle and it ought to be a pretty straightforward claim.0 -
Hi, I was wondering if I could claim compensation from Thomson. I've booked a holiday to Gran Canaria direct from Thomson website. Our flight from Gatwick on 29.12.14 to Gran Canaria was delayed over 5 hours due to Virgin flight emergency landing. We were the first flight to go just before it happened. And we had a big chance to fly before that happened but Thomson flight was already delayed about 30 minutes. Anyway they kept all the passenger in the plane for over 5 hours. Few hours after that when we were in the air they said that they run out from hot food and we were extremely hungry. We arrived at the hotel well after midnight so according to the check in a day after so we missed a great night and the dinner in our hotel.
Do you think I've hot any chance to claim compensation from Thomson?0 -
Hi, how accurate is the flight stats website. Im asking for a friend as its saying a different landing time to what the actual landing time was.0

I got my compensation, but 1p less than you!!!!0 -
Its about an hour out (give or take a few mins) but if she went by flight stats the delay is just under the 3 hour mark but it was actually 4. How can she prove what time it landed?0

There seems to be quite a bit of anecdotal evidence that Thomson Towers have finally raised the white flag? Not before time!
Out of the blue came an envelope yesterday from TUI, with what seemed to be more than one sheet of paper enclosed. Here's goes, I thought, their latest corporate excuse for finding a wiggle-out on my (valid) delay claim.
But no......... a letter telling me that the cheque enclosed was my compensation (for one of) my claims I've sent them. I was staggered really, and upon re-reading, quite amused by the wording. By the sounds of the letter, they are telling me that "EU Regs 261/2004 entitles some customers to a compensation payment" (abbr) so I must be one of the few lucky ones to receive compensation "as a result of operational issues". Not quite tongue in cheek, but they must have winced when having to word such a generic letter to claimantsOf course, the start of the letter did say that at "Thomson Airways, we're committed to treating our customers fairly". So now we know that they really mean it .............don't we?
I could have gone further and queried the amount they paid me which was in £'s, as no exchange rate was quoted, nor was any interest likely to have been added either. But I'm not greedy - I just like to have what I'm entitled to without all the associated aggro.
Just one more claim to wait for a settlement, and my son's one as well.
A Happy New Year it is becoming to be ...........0 -

The airline will have an accurate record of when the plane landed. If she is absolutely confident, she should just make the claim.0 -
My wife and I were delayed just under 19hrs on a flight (TOM2701) from Larnaca, Cyprus to Manchester on the 7th September 2014.
I used the template complaint letter on MSE and sent this to Thomson. I received no reply or acknowledgement, so I followed this up using the electronic complaint form which is on the Thomson site. Other than the normal automatic response email I received no communication from them.
On the 9th January as a last ditch approach before considering going to the small claims court I emailed the Cypriot Gov. website there was link to passenger rights.
Never heard anything from them either however today (15/01/15) I received an apology letter from Thomson with a cheque for £638 so not sure if its coincidence or if sending a copy of the complaint to the Passenger Rights in Cyprus had anything to do with it.
Good luck to anybody going through the same situation.0
