    Vaubin, thanks for the advice.
Tigger, I phoned thomson this morning and they settled.
€600 plus costs plus interest. Success.
Please, all who have a valid claim, persue it
The man at thomson was excellent. He seemed very relieved that I agreed to settle.
I was really scared of going to court.
But I am so pleased. Thank you and good luck to all claiming

    Thanks for the reply guys.

I'm having problems wit the flightstats website. I can't seem to pick a date in 2014 to check what time my flight actually landed.

    http://www.flightstats.co.uk/home.do

I can only pick dates from 2015. Am I doing something wrong? Is there an alternative time to see when my flight landed?

    Cheers

    Thanks Vauban,

I have got hold of the details now. The delay is 4+ hours.

I have submitted a standard claim "letter" through the web form. I suspect this will get rejected and I will have to write to them.

    Cheers
  • Regretting going through Bott & Co a bit now.

The LBA period for my claim ran out in early September. In mid-September I chased, and was told that it was in a pile awaiting ligation, but that I had 6 years from the date of the flight to claim so there was no rush.

I've just spoken to them again and it hasn't yet moved from that pile. I'm tempted to write to Thompson again myself.

If others have claimed and been paid, or about to be paid on your particular flight, litigation may not be required. And keeps the costs down for everyone. Bott may well be waiting for a litigated claim on your flight to be paid out. It is much then easier for them to go back to airline with your claim to demand payment without costly litigation.

I do understand why you're frustrated - and want your money. But I think you need to bear in mind two things:

    a) it is the airline, rather than Bott's, who are holding things up: it's in Bott's interest to get this settled as quickly and easily as possible - it is the airline who won't play ball;

    b) your claim has been active for I guess about five months: I'm afraid that's nothing really. Many people have had to wait a lot, lot longer than that. This is because of airline delay tactics and legal challenges which have really gummed up the works. Your claim may be settled more quickly if Bott's don't have to litigate, so I think you need to give them a few more weeks yet.

Why don't you ask Bott & Co to release you from your contract with them if it is sitting in a pile awaiting action.......if they will then you could run with it yourself. Some of the new claims against Thomson are being settled quite quickly and without the need for litigation.

I have just received a cheque from Thomson for a delayed flight from Menorca in August 2007. I got my claim into the court in July 2013 just before the deadline and Thomsons have now settled after the results of the court of appeal cases of Huzar and Jet2. Cheque of over £2100 for 5 passengers. The only negative is that Thomson have paid interest at 4% rather than the 8 % claimed, and I have to claim my court fee back from the court as the case never got there. Thanks everyone for their help in the last 18 months.
