I was on a scheduled flight to Gran Canaria on what I believe to be 2nd May 2009. It was delayed for what I remember 22 hours, we were put up in an on-site hotel for around 5 hours and I can remember that it was the morning that Ricky Hatton lost his boxing title to mani pacquani, or some name to that effect.

I have tried searching for this flight delay and cannot find it anywhere. We were due to fly out if Birmingham airport on the Saturday afternoon but did not fly until the Sunday afternoon. I am beginning to doubt myself that this happened, due to not being able to locate this delayed flight as it says it was on time, but I remember that it wasn't. Was anyone else on this forum in this flight, long shot I know, or can anyone give me any advice as to anywhere else I can find this info apart from Flightstats. Many thanks. Donna.

Don't worry about it. Just make your claim in the normal way. Flightstats doesn't always get it right: but the airline will know. So long as you were more than 3 hours delayed.

I wasn't on that flight, but 02 May 2009 is certainly the date. I know that cos I was in Las Vegas watching Ricky Hatton get knocked out by Manny Pacquiao! :(

Don't listen to them Bonters!

If you take the letters C E N T I P E D E and J E N N E W E S T then, if you add some more letters and take others away, you get the phrase "THE CAA SAYS NO COMPO FOR YOU". Spooky, huh?

Ha, well scoff if you must, my good fellow, but I notice from another thread, you have suddenly become a good deal less confident about the outcome of the Dawson case? I was never suggesting any form of conspiracy, only that certain folk already know the outcome of this case - and they do, believe me. :shhh:

Hi Guys/Gals

Returned from holiday on Tuesday (supposed to be Monday night). Flight was cancelled and we travelled 16 hours later (was taken to a hotel for several hours for some sleep).

Wanted to check a couple of things as not sure who I should be claimng from and for what.

I can see there is a letter tempate for posting the operator (Thomson) which I will fill out and send this week. However on the information page for delay/cancellation on this site it gives me a link to the Thomson web site to complain.

Can someone clarify a few things for me:

• Do I send a letter or complain via the web site?
• Flight was from Bourgas to Bristol, distance 2480 km and over 16 hour delay. Am I correct is saying this is €400 per passenger?
Also, two pieces of luggage were damaged and will need to be replaced. Also I paid for a night stay at a hotel and parking. Do I claim this from the airline or from my travel insurance?

Sorry for all the questions, just want to confirm what I can claim and from who.

Many thanks

Sion

I'm only teasing, as I hope you know.:D

But I seriously don't think many people are aware of the judgement - the Court usually prescribes a very narrow circle of people who are allowed to see it. And you only get it a couple of days before, if at all. So the magazine thing is definitely a red herring.

On your other point about me becoming "suddenly less confident", I refer the hon gentleman to my comments of 24th May. This remains my position.;) Until later this morning at any rate ...

Oh yes, I can take the leg-pulling, no problems. I just think the portents in this case are somewhat ominous, and I gather you may agree. As someone has pointed out on the dedicated thread, the fine fellows at Bott & Co have not booked themselves on early trains to the Court of Appeal, accompanied by a number of journalists, and the trebles lined up on the bar for lunchtime, as was the case for Huzar.

Haha, well done Vauban, Centipede and all the others on here helping people. I was wrong to be pessimistic and I put my hands up. Had the judgement confirmed by my man at Bott & Co, so everything's good. It does appear that Thomson might also be refused any further appeal on the time limit issue, but not confirmed yet (as far as I know)

Bott have already issued Thomsons with the court papers. My ? Does this still mean it will have to go through the court or will Thomson just pay everybody out !!!Sorry if I sound stupid.
