Thanks for that. Great idea, the Monarch thread has dozens of flights listed. Any idea whether a faulty fuel valve is an EC or not?. Cheers0 -
i have done everything i should have done about myu delay it got rejected and now i have got the caa involved but it has been over 2 months is it worth me chasing up the caa or is it just taking a long time for them to get through everybodys

Just had phone all from thomson as I agreed to mediation offering 600 euros comp per passenger plus 70 mcol fee - basically they are offering settlement but not the 8 pet rnt interest which equates to another 230 quid. Wondering whether to hold out or to go back and say ill take 4 percent interest - what do people think?

There is no guarantee that a judge will award you interest at 8% - or indeed at all - even if you win. And you run the risk of a unfriendly judge who sides with the airline - despite the apparent strength of your case.
On the other hand, the airline would not make this offer if they thought they had a good chance of defending: so you are likely to be able to call the shots.
I personally like your 4% proposal - but you should get them to throw in some flowers as an apology as well!0 -
Thomson have a cheek to appeal with their stupid Montreal excuses.
A horrid company and even more of a dirty player stringing it all out for an appeal. Hope they get whats coming and the appeal is denied and get sued to within an inch of their lives by the thousands that are owed money0 -
So does that mean I wont be going to court soon if Thomson have appealed? Have I now got to wait until the appeal decision before I get my compensation from 2008? If it isn't upheld and they lose I want interest for all of the time they are messing about too.0

It is possible that a judge could be persuaded to order a stay, I suppose. But I'd also value others thoughts on this.
Weren't you due in court soon, Flocky?0 -
Yes in September
Edit - This month then LOL its in a couple of weeks. Like another case I saw on here Thomson have decided not to defend the EC side only to concentrate on the Montreal Part
Can see why now - maybe they thought Cambridge would go their way. So my case is basically is it or is it not Montreal - was this the topic of the case in Cambridge?
The lawyer on You and Yours said that the appeal will probably be denied anyway - why don't Thomson just cough up?
Also is it JUST Thomson citing the Montreal Convention?0
