The decision of this case is due to be appealed at the Supreme Court by Jet2.com in the near future, which may result in a further change to the interpretation of regulations.

Leave to appeal has not yet even been considered let alone granted.

This letter tennis isn't even very interesting (as you've discovered) and it certainly won't get you your money.

Do you really not know what to do next? Even after reading my very helpful guide (details below)? Then all hope is truly lost ...

'not know' and unsure are not the same thing, your guide is helpful and yes, I will have to take them to court to get compensation, I'm 'unsure' if I want to take this route!

Well you could always wait for the Huzar case: if the appeal is dismissed, it ought to be a v easy legal claim. Or if you want the money sooner, hand it over to Bott (who continue to get results it seems, despite the general stays in place).
  • Just returned from the worst holiday experience in over 30 years of travelling. Have contacted Thomas Cook on return and also completed the claim form from here. Hope we don't have to wait too long for reply.:(

Seems Thomas Cook are handing their cases over to Weightmans Solicitors in Manchester, probably in preparation for the last appeal (if its granted). Got my letter yesterday saying they have full authority for my claim, they say they are acting in place of Thomas Cook........the £interest£ is still building since 2011.
  • After reading lots of posts about Thomas Cook not paying out, I must be one of the lucky ones. After being delayed in Cuba in Dec 2010 for 24 hrs (spent in our room at the hotel!), I decided to try for compensation. I used the link from Martins site and filled out the very simple form on the Thomas Cook website. I was not expecting to get anything but was pleasantly surprised to receive an email last weekend saying that they had awarded me £1449 compensation in the form of a travel voucher. However, after some research on the internet, I emailed Thomas Cook and told them I wanted the money not a voucher. I am currently awaiting a Bacs transfer for the amount, which they said can take up to 10 days. I am very happy with this result and after an awful year, am looking forward to a good christmas :j Has anyone else got compensation so easily?

Nice to know they can play nice!
Can I ask as to what caused your delay?

    Many thanks, Nats

Some time travel offered by TC now, how did the airlines get on with the Huzar & Dawson cases?
