Notice how they put "may be" instead of "is a" before every lie. I'm sure the police would be very interested in arresting you for such a heinous crime of divulging an airline letter on a forum!0 -

Thanks I never actually noticed the 'may be' before. I will now freely post the correspondence I have recieved. :rotfl:0 -
Is an oil leak 'extraordinary circumstances'....Just that my compensation complaint has been denied, based on this...0

Do large complex bits of machinery like aircraft leak oil routinely? Hm, I'm just not sure.
Best have a read of the Huzar thread and form your own view.
Ha! Thought as much. Actually the first reply I received from them told me that after a 'full investigation' our delay was ' due to industrial action/to adverse weather/a medical emergency'. I called them to let them know I had proof that it wasn't due to any of these generic reasons to avoid paying compensation and they just sent me the same email again but put 'oil leak' in its place...
Can I ask them to look at the claim again based on an oil leak not being extraordinary?0 -
Hi, new to this so bear with me. We have just got back from a holiday with Thomas Cook and we had a flight delay of 13 hours on our way out. Thomas Cook have given us a letter to confirm the delay which we can use to claim via our travel insurance. So my question is should claim to Thomas Cook directly or via our travel insurance? Also we booked a hotel at Gatwick the night before as our flight was so early but we didn't end up flying until the following evening so can we also claim for that? Any advice would be appreciated. You should claim of both as they are separate issues. Your Gatwick hotel situation is not claimable.0
