  • Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has requested compensation regarding this flight? It was 18th June 2009. Delayed just over 6 hours. I didn't claim at the time as I thought you only could on delays over 12 hours! I have sent the first letter to TC today! Fingers crossed!

Its was form N1CPC. It states on the letter I received from the court that the defendant has until 19th February to reply, so I was wondering what happens after then?
    Thanks

If they don't respond you can apply for judgement by default. But watch out as the sneaky so and so's will get a defence in 2 days late and blame the post or something and the courts will allow it.
But certainly apply by 21st if there's no defence filed.

Should I email the person I was speaking to who offered to send me the cheque for the 1 flight,, or is that not a good idea?
  • Has anyone claimed for the cancelled flight from Manchester on 24/05/2008 Thomas Cook flight to faro flight number TCX154. We were delayed for 23 hours and no one from the airport was giving us information. We were a party of 23 and had to keep on the airport floor as Ricky Hatton was fighting in Manchester and ll hotels were full. Thomas Cook were disgraceful but I see from flight checker that the state of the flight is noted as cancelled. What are our chances of getting full refunds and compo for all ? We have no paper work but booked through our local Thomas Cook shop which is still here.

  • Interesting reading from flightontime.info:

Thomson Airways was the most punctual charter airline in the UK for the fourth consecutive summer season in 2011, with an average delay of 17.3 minutes recorded and around 77% overall on-time performance.
Thomas Cook Airlines finished the season in second place with an average delay of 19.8 minutes, but had the highest proportion of flights delayed by over an hour among the three analysed carriers at 8.8%. Monarch Airlines charter flights had the poorest performance and finished in third position with the longest average delay at 22 minutes.

  • Hi
I sent my letter 7 days ago via email using the template from centipede (thanks very much) and have recieved this response this morning:
Thank you for contacting Thomas Cook.

I am sorry that certain aspects of your holiday did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate you taking the time to contact us.

We listen closely to all of our customers’ feedback, and whilst we would like to respond straight away, we sometimes need to investigate before we can provide you with a detailed response.

We deal with all complaints in date order, and we will respond to you as soon as we can. ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) tell Thomas Cook that we must respond to you within 28 days.

If you need to contact us in the meantime, please ensure you provide your booking reference and case reference numbe - xxxxx

    Regards,

Any advise on my next step or do i have to give them 28 days .
    Thanks

hi does my letter look okay before i send, i don't have a thomas cook reference but i have a youtravel ref who i booked via

I am writing regarding flight TCX 693 on Thu Jul-17-2008 from (SSH) Sharm el Sheikh to (GLA) Glasgow with the scheduled departure time of 17:50pm . This flight arrived 10 hours late at (GLA) Glasgow, at 8:45 AM on Fri Jul-18-2008

The judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Tui & others v CAA confirmed the applicability of compensation for delay as set out in the Sturgeon case. As such, I am seeking compensation under EC Regulation 261/2004 for this delayed flight.

The passengers in the party were Mr x & Miss x .

My scheduled flight length was 4360km, therefore I am seeking €600 per delayed passenger in my party. The total is €1200 for all passengers.

Was anyone on the Thomas cook flight TCX 908k form Manchester to Santorini 31/08/2010 8 hours delay. Also the return journey on 14/09/2010 Santorini to Manchester TCX 908L 7 hours delay so it total on our holiday we had 15 hours delay. I have written to THomas Cook with the template letter (thank you) November 5th received a letter back saying they are looking in to it and we will receive a reply within 28 days. I have contacted them again this week and they claim they are still looking into the problem and they are very busy. By the way just seen a program on the BBC 9.26am stating most people should be able to claim compensation. Can anyone advise me should I wait for a reply from Thomas Cook or contact the CAA thanks.
Hello just in reply to your message me and my partner were also on this flight and were delayed for 8 hours. I wrote to Thomas cook not long ago and received the template letter stating that no action can be taken. I was wondering if you managed to get anywhere with this. Thanks.
