Hurghada to gatwick 19/10/2012 TCX 1639
They have sent me a cheque for 970 lovely pounds after submitting template letter claim on line 10 days ago.No arguing just a straight cheque sent through the post.
Our flight was delayed due to knock on effect of one of their planes having to do an emergency landing somewhere else due to smoke in cabin. Not our airport or destination involved but cabin crew informed entire plane when we finally boarded of the reason as above therefore it wasn't thomas cooks fault!
However I filed court action last friday on another flight claim which they are trying to ignore.
The cheque is dated Monday 11 Feb the first working day after I filed with the court. Connected or coincidence??
Hi
Could you please advise how to submit the claim online? I think i must have missed this on the forum. I have sent a letter by registered post on Friday with my original tickets and i also sent an email to dob@thomascook.com. I am trying to claim 1,800 euro for a flight delayed 5 hours to Cyprus.
Many thanks0 -
Having trouble claiming through Thomas Cook for a 9 hour delay in Bristol airport following the above flight being delayed, which we were told was caused by one of the computers failing a pre-flight check. Another plane had to be flew in (eventually). I've been backwards and forwards with TC, originally correspondence was with someone with an Indian sounding name, but it seems it has been passed on to their British cust services and I have had the following response
Any assistance or advice would be great.
I have just sent a complaint to the CAA, hopefully they can work some magic.
Cheers,

The address is thomascook.com/customer-relations
I just scan all my letters and attach them at the bottom of the form that the address brings up.
They have almost without exception responded virtually immediately, on one occasion within a couple of hours.
I believe the fact it is electronically trackable and they can't lose it or pretend to may have something to do with the speed of replies!
10 days start to finish .......
however, other claim is still running, but on a very compressed time line.

They are refusing to reply to the CAA. I have now gone to euro delays.co.uk, they take a cut but I feel a little is better than nothing. I reported them to Holiday Watch because they have not replied to a letter I sent to their CE reporting the lies etc that they have been telling me, HW have been very helpful & I have just returned from sending them a letter RD giving them 7 days to reply or I take it to ABTA. Had they not been such liars I would have been more lenient but they will not even answer my e mails. Just wish the Media could find out what they are like.

Is it not easier for the airline to simply cough up without all this cour proceedings? Surely if it costs say £30 to begin proceedings I would be looking to recover this if they decided to settle out of court in addition to the compensation value.
With this in mind surey the Airlines will be paying out more by allowing people to take it to court? Remember also that if you are in receipt of Certain Benefits and Working Tax Credits without the child element is one - you can sue in the small claims court without paying any fees.0 -
As I previously wrote TC have offered me a cheque for my inbound flight but not my outbound one,, both were delayed for the same amount of time but they have stated they are still investigating the outbound one. I issued court papers and the day of service per the papers is tomorrow,, what happens after that if they still haven't replied to me???

Its was form N1CPC. It states on the letter I received from the court that the defendant has until 19th February to reply, so I was wondering what happens after then?
