Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY

I had an 11 hour flight delay on my way to Jamaica 2 years ago and filed a compensation claim through a no-win no-fee solicitors as I'm too busy to deal with the paperwork.
After their 27% commission has been taken both my boyfriend and I have been awarded £360 compensation each, bearing in mind our whole package holiday for 2 weeks all inclusive was £1012pp I'm really pleased that we're getting just shy of 1/3 of the total cost back!
Good for you!
Could you please let me know which NWNF firm you used as I am going down this route now.0 -
Copied off flight stats?
DEPARTURE ARRIVAL
Scheduled Departure: Scheduled Arrival:
6:20 PM - Fri Jun-28-2013 8:10 PM - Fri Jun-28-2013
Actual Departure: Estimated Arrival:
6:22 PM - Fri Jun-28-2013 9:45 PM - Fri Jun-28-2013 (runway)
Departure Gate: 16 (Terminal 1)
Thanks for your feedback but this doesn't provided the actual Arrival which is the importance piece to any claim.
The flight did take off on time (well 2 mins late), however it didn't arrive until the early hours of the next morning.
I'm just wondering what other sites there maybe online or whether they share the same data source.0 -

If you know it was over three hours late, you don't require a website to prove it. The airline ought to confirm when you serve the papers.0 -

You will just waste 2 months of your time waiting for a response from TC, do yourself a favour and issue them with 14 days NBA0 -

If only ... my Thomson flight was 3 hours and 35 minutes late, but Thomson say (under a statement of truth) it was 2 hours and 50 minutes.
I'd advise you to get all the proof you can find because airlines tell blatant lies and the Judge wasn't on that flight.0 -
Ok, so after sending my second letter I received an email reply.
Having carried out a full investigation, it would appear that the delay on this occasion was due to an engine fan blade found to have damage. The blade required none destructive testing and repair work. There was also an application to Rolls Royce for a Technical Variation to allow continued operation of the blade. The paper work from Rolls Royce was taking a long time to achieve so it was decided to replace the fan blade. A fan blade matching the weight of the damaged blade which was taxied from Manchester to London Gatwick and replaced. Due to there being no previous faults, which I hope you will appreciate, this fault is completely beyond our control. In line with Regulation 261/2004, a payment of compensation would not, therefore, be payable in these circumstances.
So a broken fan blade 'extraordinary circumstances'??
What should my next action be? Send them another letter? Or just go straight ahead and file for compensation via small claims court?..0 -

Why would anyone think that the next action would be to send the airline another letter?!
What was Einstein describing when he said, "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"? 'Nuff said.0 -
