Well, the cheque has finally arrived (20days after them agreeing to pay), for the full amount inc. court fees & interest! My first contact with TC re compensation was 28th Oct 2012 so it took almost 9 months to get the result but just goes to show that if you are determined & don't just give in then you can win them. I didn't use any NWNF company & used the MCOL service which cost me £70 (now covered by TC) & wasn't difficult to use. They push everything to the limit in the hope that you will just give up!! Don't let them get away with it, stick to your guns & persevere, its worth it in the end. Thanks to everyone on here for your help & advice, & thanks to MSE for the email all that time ago that got everything started.0

Hi appreciate some help on what to do next. In a nutshell arrived Mahon airport for flight to Newcastle board stated on time, however Glasgow flight was showing as 4 hours late. Flight from Newcastle landed on time, which usually turns around. Glasgow flight in was delayed by 8 hours Board then changed to say Glasgow flight was boarding and Newcastle flight was delayed 4 hours it was eventually 8 hours late. Received the usual email technical fault blah blah blah. Emailed CC the DOB and received the following reply which seems to relate to Glasgow.
Summary of Delay for CRE purposes:
Reactionary due to
Originally planned to operate on G-TCBB however flight on the ground in GLA with a bleed defect
G-TCBB right engine bleed cycling and was deferred as per MEL 16th May for return to GLA. On the morning 17th weather deteriorated and no dispatch allowed. Extensive trouble shooting and multiple component changes carried out. Eventually found to be a relay fault. Parts supplied from MAN and LTN. No history prior to 16th May. Fault Isolation Manual followed. For fluctuating pressure the FIM just lists pneumatic components as the possible cure.
I appreciate that you remain unhappy with this decision, and whilst I regret this, we do not believe that a payment under the rules of the scheme is relevant in this particular case. Should you remain unhappy I can only suggest that you seek further advice from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) online at0 -
Hi appreciate some help on what to do next.
1) Forget the CAA
2) Presume you have read through FAQ's on page one
3) Issue 14 day NBA
4) Assuming no reply it will be necessary for you to commence court action
5) Some (considerable) time later enjoy your compensation rightfully won due to your tenacity and patience.
6) Place a post on the court successes thread and get lots of 'thanks'.0 -
Well after being totally fobbed off by TC a couple of months ago, I now have the time to dedicate to a lengthy court process. Quick note of my delay.... 8 hour delay in 2010 flying from Manchester to Sharm. We were told upon arrival that we would have an 8 hour delay - hoping this will be in our favour. At no point have TC given any details of the reason for delay, simply the usual EC rubbish.
Ready to write my NBA and hoping some of you can offer a little advice - how much detail should be in this letter? I think that TC have been dreadful in their handling of my claim - along with everyone else's.0 -

Just stick to the facts - delayed over 3 hours > entitled to ?€ > would prefer to settle out of court but if not you are prepared to proceed to court action where you will be requesting interest and court charges in addition to your entitlement.0
