The front page of the Daily Mail is interesting and includes a win at court against TC!0 -
We were on this flight and I have had the template response so to speak. That was back in December and I have another letter ready but I have not yet sent it as I was waiting to see how other peoples cases were sorted.
I would send your letter. Also, I have contacted someone from the Vegas flight that was delayed the day after ours (I think we got their plane, but then they were still fobbed off with the "exceptional circumstances" excuse). They are taking action against TC as a group as they had a 32 hour delay, and have also joined forces with passengers from a Lapland flight that was delayed. They have a Facebook page called Man Sincity Veg, might be worth joining that so we can all join forced against TC0 -
TCX4507 Dalaman - Birmingham 10/06/11
I've just called TC and claimed for a flight delay of 7 hours which we were told at the time was caused by the late arrival of the aircraft due to a technical fault and then crew being out of hours.
I'd read the DM article and contacted TC direct before reading this thread. I will await their response and update on here, but from reading others experience I'm not expecting a cheque in the post any day soon.
Many thanks to everyone who has given such great advice - I'm probably going to need it!0 -

Could I claim or should I try to claim against Tomas Cook for:
20/12/2009 Leeds - Tenerife South
Scheduled 4:50pm, delayed initially due to weather. Eventually postponed (canceled?) around 9pm - 10pm. Official line would probably be the weather, unofficial was that the staff would be over their flying hours (after initial weather delay).
21/12/2009 Leeds - Tenerife South
After an overnight stay at a hotel (courtesy of TC), Flight scheduled for 1pm ish but eventually abandoned due to the ground staff puncturing the tyre while towing the airplane during taxing..
Flight finally departs approximately 5:30pm (26 hours late or 4 hours late? Weather, staff problems or incompetent ground staff?)
27-12/2000 - Tenerife South - Leeds
Approx 2 hour delay due to air traffic strike action.
I was compensated by Thomas cook but that was for the overall dreadful holiday experience and was only £111 + £100 voucher. I also got £90 from my travel insurance.0 -
They turned me down weeks ago, never bothered to reply to the Greek CAA, they claimed a incorrect FAX NO. They have given people on the same flight different reasons for the delay. I contacted them again to see if they had replied to the authorities, their reply, no, my file is still under investigation . I have now put it in the hands of somebody who charges a percentage, better something than nothing
Can you recommend who you went through?
I've just sent TC a mail requesting details of the EC before I pass off to legal representative. I told them I didn't believe FAC1 error was EC, just a technical issue.
Doubt they will respond but worth a try.
Cheers,
Mat.0 -
Sister in law and I sent identical letters at the same time to TC regarding our 6 hour delayed flight. She got a refusal letter first, but I got an email saying they are looking into my case and will get back to me when they have fully investigated. Am certain to get another 'thanks but no thanks' reply I expect but interesting nonetheless.0

Hi Matt, sky mediator. I have sent them a couple of texts today after seeing the newspapers, not bothered to reply to either. Think they must be shaking in their shoes.0 -
had a flight back from Antayla to gatwick which was delayed for 15 hours and plane had to go to Stansted instead of Gatwick this was May 2009 got the standard Extraordinary Circumstances letter so have given them 21 days to pay else court. We were told the delay was cracked cockpit screen at the time however no letters confirm this .
A .DO I HAVE A CLAIM if this is the reason
B. How do i find out this was the actual reason as i can see Thomas cook are hiding behind many excuses0
