Just watched this weeks Watchdog and the trailer at the end for next weeks show specifically mentioned Thomas Cook as being particularly poor at paying out under EU 261 regulations. Should be an interesting programme and good publicity for our 'cause'. Maybe just maybe it might embarrass Thomas Crooks into paying the compensation customers are legally and rightly entitled too where fare paying customers have been let down by their appalling service!0 -
hi had a lovely two weeks in Mexico was meant to fly home on 27th April and flights got cancelled and delayed twice until 28th April afternoon and did not arrive home until Monday morning??

after requesting an explanation from TC of why out flight from Manchester to Fuerteventura was delayed for over 18 hours, they have now responded that the mechanical failure which they account as Exceptional circs is a private matter and cannot explain what was the cause of the mechanical failure. They have now concluded that I should go through the CAA. Should I now take the court route as this is the 2nd response from TC .0

Yes. Mechanical failure is not an extraordinary circumstance - unless it was sabotage? Thought not. Proceed to court!0 -

Rightyho, my court date approaches and I am about to send off my bundle. In light of the upcoming Watchdog, their previous "form" and the strength of my case, I should imagine they'll settle before or at the hearing.
But if not, then I'm looking forward to actually see what happens if it goes to the hearing.0 -

Hi all
Can someone help?
Ive complained twice now via email and letter to Thomas cook who have not responded. I have sent a letter to the CAA and they have responded saying that they think i have a claim.
But what now? Do the CAA sort it out or do i have to write to someone else?
TIA x£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
I had a horrid thought today im sure im ok but just want to check
My flight was delayed in May 09 i put in my complaint back in 09 whilst actually in the airport and then again on my return to the uk thomas cook rejected it ! I then in Nov 2012 once i found out about the ruling used the standard template and have had the normal run around and have filed for court action (awaiting the date ).
However i realise the 5 years is up this week !
However because i have lodged a complaint with TC already in Nov and they have used EC am i too late or with its the courts i have 6 years dont I ?0 -

How long was it before you got a repsonse from CAA?
I wrote to them 01/03/2013 got an automated response and nothing since, I have sent all my relevant paper work and its been received !
Emailed them for a update and again no response!
Any info would be grateful although I am aware theres a 3-4 month delay just curious to know how long you waited..
Thanks0
