You appear to have been told the same thing as me then Sue. Potentially things will speed up as the list of logged flights in dispute grows, ie if your claim, when it's opened, is for a flight that's already been investigated and cleared by the legal team for a payout, then it's cut and dried, it won't need investigating again.
That's if we are to believe these shysters  - Just 6 people opening 1000's of letters and emails? Hmmmm...

Another thing I was thinking of, just running some arithmetic through my brain...
If they have 10,000 claims (so far) and every single one is valid, at the low end of €250 pp, then that's 'only' €2,500,000? Which is a drop in the ocean for a big airline really.

the arthimatic i was doing was they have dealt with 600 claims in 3 months, which is 200 claims a month which is only around 7 claims per day, if they have 6 people looking at them then thats an easy days work for them, one claim each a day.

However she did say she would cal lme back by friday with an update

I still think that 'we' would have found someone by now that can confirm they have been paid out though.
So I'm struggling to cut through what is genuine and what is bull.
If my paperwork has been opened and seen to - they say it has - and it's with the legal team, - I mean, how much time can a legal team take over my case which is very cut and dried?
12 weeks now they have had my stuff, and there was only a weeks worth of claims in front of mine. Surely I would be close to the front of the queue of resolved cases?

Yeah I would say it's more a case of only having 2 or 3 lawyers who manage to get through about 10 a day on a 5 day week. There might be little point in having a bigger 'letter opening' team if it's just building up a backlog on the lawyers inbox.

This legal team might well be having to deal with several court case claims a day as well, - they've obviously got to be answered firstly, to comply with a court timetable.
Just wondering out loud now, if someone on my flight has now got fed up and filed a court claim, does that mean that my flight won't be investigated any further as they will wait and take a chance on seeing what the judge says?

Interesting that Monarch are saying that some people have been compensated for delays but they won't say who. Could it also be the case that anybody that has been compensated have been made to sign a "no comment" clause?

Perhaps my confidence in the integrity of the company has been knocked by the smabolic way they are dealing with this, but I find their explanations unconvincing.

We are seeing plenty of anecdotal evidence of other companies paying up - it's quite visible. If Monarch were dealing with this as others are, we would see similar outcomes. We are not. So, why?

Dealing with enquiries by date of flight seems a bit bizarre. But regardless of how they choose to cut this cake, their knife ain't sharp enough. They need to get a move on or we are all headed to court.

I have just asked Monarch a question on how many lawyers they are using on the facebook page if anyone else wants to add.
Lets keep the pressure up guys ;)

Others are freely commenting on their success with BA etc so I can't see that on a free speech basis. Clauses only apply when there's an out of court settlement, - this is a RIGHT to compensation and part of the Law.

We should absolutely keep the pressure up, especially on their Facebook site. Whilst it seems rude, Monarch are treating all of us far more rudely through their cavalier disservice. (Though I feel slightly sorry for their social media person, whose web page is now littered with angry injunctions.)

Not as sorry as I felt when I started shaking after 9 hours in the airport due to only having taken enough diabetes pills with me for the 2 hour flight
