The UK allocation questionaire is quite clear that the Claimants Court (if an individual applies) is likely to take preference. On my questionaire I requested the hearing at my local Court (this was granted) with my reasoning being that I was keen to restrict costs to the minimum and not seen to be increasing my claim costs in any way.0 -
I'm waiting for a call today. I'd emailed the social media team but given them an incorrect mobile number
so they'd emailed me to ask for the correct one and for a convenient time to call me. I'll let you know but assume it'll be the same stock answer as already given here.
I will ask which dates they're up to at the mo.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0 -

Just had a call from Monarch after emailing the social media team. She told me my second (well 3rd if you count the one they apparently didn't get) letter of 4th Jan has not even been opened yet and is with hundreds of others. They have 6 people logging and registering and 'looking at' the claims over the past 6 years. These will then be passed to the legal team then a snr legal team if any grey areas. They are not going by date order but by flight. I don't know how this can be done if the letters aren't opened in date order though !! Can't give me any time scale at all. She confirms payouts have been made but won't divulge how many and said they wouldn't let the public know that anyway. So all in all I'm no nearer knowing.I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

You appear to have been told the same thing as me then Sue. Potentially things will speed up as the list of logged flights in dispute grows, ie if your claim, when it's opened, is for a flight that's already been investigated and cleared by the legal team for a payout, then it's cut and dried, it won't need investigating again.
That's if we are to believe these shysters  - Just 6 people opening 1000's of letters and emails? Hmmmm...
Another thing I was thinking of, just running some arithmetic through my brain...
If they have 10,000 claims (so far) and every single one is valid, at the low end of €250 pp, then that's 'only' €2,500,000? Which is a drop in the ocean for a big airline really.0 -

Kind of reassuring though that they didnt just tell you the same as they told us, Mine has been opened and being looked at, so some progress is being made, They also said 600 claims had been responded to, didnt say what way they went though0 -
This is my experience of Monarch to date after delay of >5 hours MAN to PMI in 2011 (this is apart from to-ing and fro-ing on Facebook):
There must have been issues on that particular day (9.04.2011), as I was delayed by about 6 hours on the flight going the other way at the same time? (ZB533 1335hrs Spainish time).
Requested re-consideration for compensation in Nov last year (was fobbed-off in 2011). Monarch sent a claim form that was submitted in mid-December. Not heard anything. I guess its just a matter of wait and see.0
