emm, might just lol, why do they insist of defending a hopeless case? Now Van der Lans backs me up as well. If truth though I think the defence is just rambling over the same thing para after para. It may have been written by a minion.

Update- Monarch paid up three weeks before the date of the hearing. The European court judgement on extraordinary circumstances was perfectly timed for me.

Thanks to all for advice and especially Vauban for the excellent guide.

  • To confirm Monarch have agreed to pay out compensation on this flight (ZB 654 Manchester to Malaga 14 July 2012) with no quibble at all. The cheque is on it's way apparently.

The issue was that the plane due for this flight was redeployed to pick up passengers from another flight whose plane did have technical difficulties. Annoyingly this resulted in an 11 hour delay for us and an entire lost day of the holiday.

Even when they say they will pay up it doesn't mean they will!

  • A final update. I finally received a cheque for compensation from Monarch for the 23 hour delay to flight ZB 249 on 14-Jan-2012 flying from Sharm-El-Sheikh to Gatwick caused by a cracked windscreen.

Thanks to all on here for the information and help in pushing through the claim. Please add that flight to the list of ones they have now folded over.
  • I've just won my claim for compensation with Monarch.

    (MON1874 20th July 13 - 5.5 hour delay)
    (MON1875 27th July 13 - 22.39 hour delay)

Hubby and I went to Lesbos in Greece in 2013, and were delayed both there and back due to a technical fault with the plane.

I tried to claim in 2013 but my claim was rejected.

But I saw in Martin's email a couple of weeks ago, something about new laws coming out, and decided to try again via Resolver.

It took TWO WEEKS! We're due to get the Stirling equivalent of €400 each, for EACH flight, so a total of €1600 due within 28 days.

I'm so impressed, and very very happy!

    Thanks Martin!!!!!

Quick update on my claim from 2010 for a problem with a jammed throttle: due in court in Luton on Tuesday.

Wish me luck! Will let you know how I get on.
