the county court will send its own bailiffs but they given notice prior to attendance.....you would think there would be some interest in a story like this..... bailiffs being sent in to collect court ordered compensation. but seems as much interest as monarch in settling lol......

Presumably, if you wait long enough, the 8% per annum interest (plus any number of unsuccessful bailiffs' fees) will eventually push the amount owed to over £600, and then you will be able to use the "sheriffs". It could be a long time, but the 8% interest could make it a good investment.
    klint - I'm liking your style ;)
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

As long as Monarch don't go bust in between times.

As you will read elsewhere on this site, there is no return without risk.

ZB715 Larnaca to Gatwick on 23rd September 2010

I've had my reply from Monarch:
"Our records show that the departure of your flight was unavoidably delayed due to French air traffic control strike action. This was very much beyond the control of Monarch."
A search confirms there were strikes around that time but is there any way to be certain our flight was affected?

That's an interesting one, and I'd like to see what the answer is.

I have been on flights from Cyprus to the UK many times before, and, although usually we flew over France, on a few occasions we only flew over Germany and Belgium, completely outside French airspace. I wonder if other airlines had changed their flight plans to avoid French airspace on that day, and if so, why not Monarch?

You are not guaranteed to get 8% (I was awarded 5%) so claimants should not rely on this plus the claimant in question (who has to go to Bailiffs and not the Sheriffs) is doing so because her claim has already been won/awarded (ie less than £600) and interest has already been determined on the day of judgement. You cannot keep adding interest yourself after that date.

Ah, thanks, I didn't know that. So Monarch are now holding on to their creditors' money as an interest-free loan!
