we only sent our forms off yesterday so hope someone else on our flight has already claimed and the flight has been investigated. as mark says then this should be logged and all other claims for that flight should be straightforward but doubt they will be. we were delayed 11 hours from manchester to sanford in june 2012.0

forgot to say our lead passenger did write to mr atkinson at monarch before the ruling but was told to contact again after it.0

Looking at the flightontime.info website Monarch are one of the worst budget airlines for delays of over 3 hours so no doubt they will have a lot of claims. I will not fly with them again unless there is no alternative.0

....got my second lot of claims forms today so at least I know they've opened my letter of 2nd Jan. The social media team sent me my first lot and they'd confirmed to me on 15th January that my claim letter hadn't even been registered then and was probably in a pile of hundreds waiting to be opened. Sooooo are we to think they're now up to mid January's post? (not that it means anything I suppose)I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!0

MCOL issued > 16th November 2012
Monarch acknowledged > 30th November 2012 (note exactly on 14 day limit)
Monarch defended > 14th December 2012 (note exactly on 14 day limit)
My allocation questionaire > 19th December 2012
Transfer to local Court advised > 28th December 2012
Allocated hearing date > 4th April 20130 -
111KAB, do you think that if you hadn't issued MCOL, Monarch would have responded to your claim with an EC decline by 14 Dec?0

I am sorry but we will not go into further details regarding our internal administration processes.
We don't want to know any further details on your internal admin process.
We just want to know what 'flight by flight' means in plain English.
Like;
We want to know what was the first flight that you have investigated, and what the second one was, in relation to claims received.
Or just the first bit really, the dates of the flights would give a clue.0 -

Personally I have no time for Monarch however, unfortunately, due to working abroad there are times when I have to consider using them as the alternative would be to fly from a less convenient airport.
My 26 hour delay - the subject of my claim - has been tagged as extraordinary circumstances by Monarch in their defence statement which is complete rubbish.
I firmly believe their lack of response/claim form/attitude is geared to trying to put people off in the hope they will walk away and give up ~ and I know for definite it has put one couple off who were on the same flight as me. If they adopt the BA/EasyJet response I believe this is going to cost them a lot more (compensation) money in the longer term. There is nothing to say they will appear in Court in April, they could even delay or possibly pay up the day before. I doubt they think they can 'win' my case but to defend in terms of the Court response costs them nothing.
To me it stinks of bully boy tactics and until such time as twitter and facebook users continue to flag this up and the CAA and the Courts take action Monarch will continue with these tactics as it is to their financial benefit to do so. The only way to hurt them is for their traffic numbers to decrease and unfortunately I do not think posters on this forum (or flightmole) have enough clout to effect the numbers or their reputation ~ or lack of it.0 -
So Maria, from the social media team, called me again this afternoon. As ever, she was very pleasant and as helpful as she could be within the bounds of what Monarch have been doing.
She confirmed firstly that Monarch did indeed have my claim registered after all - which is something, I suppose - and that it was being dealt with. They had sent my details off to their engineering department, as they required some further details about the reasons for the delay of my flight (I understand it was a cracked windscreen, but Monarch have only ever confirmed "technical difficulties"). She couldn't confirm when they might have a response for me, but promised to call me next Friday with an update.
I also asked about what flight by flight meant, and whether they were dealing in order of flight or complaints received. Frankly, I still don't really understand - but it seems to be that they are being dealt with my order of correspondence received, but that if subsequent people write up for a flight that has already been determined, then they are replied to more speedily. I specifically said that I would be concerned if my application had not been dealt with, as my flight dated from 2012. She assured me this wasn't the case, and my application was being processed.
Clearer, everyone?0 -
How do you find out the exact take off and landing times for a monarch flight. I'm positive the delay was more than 3 hours but I want to be able to put it in my claim. Does it matter that I don't have my booking reference? Flight was made online for a holiday in sept so I didn't think to keep it. Just have the flight numbers and dates of travel0
