Does it matter that I don't have my booking reference? Flight was made online for a holiday in sept so I didn't think to keep it. Just have the flight numbers and dates of travel

or this (you don't need to use the claims company)

I have also had a call this afternoon from Marie, and I believe I now understand the 'flight by flight' terminology.
The first claim opened was the first flight that was begun to be investigated. Letters/claims were continued to be opened, and logged. Therefore people that were also on this same first flight being investigated, are added to the list of claimants on this flight.
So potentially the 28th, 54th, 89th, 131st, etc etc claims/letters opened, have 'jumped' the queue and are amongst the first to have their claim resolved, one way or another.
So, the second claim/letter opened, was the second flight that was begun to be investigated. So potentially the 27th, 55th, 189th, etc etc claims/letters opened, joined into this second batch of claimants to have their cases resolved.
And so on.
They are obviously dealing with more than one case simultaneously, as the first case goes off to 'whoever they need to ask' for clarification as to the reason for the delay, the second case gets looked at and a similar enquiry is made.
And so forth.
Therefore someone who didn't write in until say December the 19th, might have a setted case, as they just happen to be claiming for one of these early flights that are investigated.
I have been assured that my flight is one that has already begun to be investigated, and has been for some time now, and an answer one way or the other is expected soon. No further time frame can be given because it's in the hands of the legal dept.
There you go :rotfl:0 -
Just submitted my claim for a delay of 5½ hours for me and 3 kids back in August. Also a request for a refund of the seat reservation fees we paid for the flight back, as Monarch put us onto a flight run by a different carrier with a different aircraft, which caused us to be split up. My two older sons ended up in one part of the aircraft; my younger son and i were in another.
Tbh I'm going to treat anything I receive back as a bonus. I'll keep the thread updated with my progress.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Monarch's defence to 111KAB's claim gives a good picture of what they're really like and is on one of 111KAB's earlier posts, perhaps it deserves a wider audience on Monarch's face book page.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Don't Monarch have any ethics?
I am not sure if they have a telephone and a letter opening team. But with every grandfather, grandaughter and their dog claiming compensation dating back 6 years, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually end up like the banks (bust!) and the people paying for this are going to be the travel industry and the client in turn. My sister was delayed on a flight and I came on here to see what it was about. I think I will not bother, I told her she is lucky enough to be able to afford holidays and she should be grateful for that.Happy0 -
I don't. I hope lots of people do, and that the airlines cease treating people like cattle. That's what the law is designed to ensure, after all.
I don't see why you are painting everyone with the same brush. I don't feel I get treated like cattle when I fly...but people's expectations are different I suppose.Happy0
