Still full of cold today so I have whizzed round with hoover and token effort with the duster, but still feeling mostly on top of things. Moved DS (14) into spare bed as it is a double and he has been complaining of backache for last 2 days. Bit of a growth spurt going on I think. He said it eased a bit with ibulieve gel and he looked comfy in there with his laptop set up.
I have tried to convince him not to bring too much of his stuff in there as it is a temporary measure. Think that'll be a losing battle.

    Mt2 great news on DD

I've got 2 short stints of the paid stuff tomorrow which will be a shock to the system. Just going to update my list and then head up to bed to read.

Really should be in bed or will be late to work tomorrow BUT really proud of this afternoon's flying.
    Bedroom blitz:
    - cleared floordrobe
    - cleared chairdrobe (new one?) - absolutely loads of clothes, mostly mine, piled on chair in bedroom. Now none. Had very guilty moment when I came across 5 T-shirts that were probably carefully ironed by OH (he's the ironer in the family) at some stage but now look - as if they have been under a pile for yonks.
    - washed indoor windows including using my new little step stool to reach the top. Always thought anything I couldn't reach myself would keep itself clean, but seemingly not.
    - shook all mats/rugs from bedroom and en suite out of the window
    - hoovered (including under bed and even inside open shelving) AND wiped laminate floor
    - wiped all skirting boards : what on earth have you lot done to me; the only time I've ever done that is prior to decorating!!!!
    - sorted out knicker drawer and chucked loads away, replaced by nice new M&S sales ones
    - fevver dustered lights and ceiling corners
    - polished mirrors
Really impressed with my efforts, could have done with another half hour but had to collect car from garage. Just have two hot spots left - dressing table which isn't too bad, but loosely covered with earrings; and corner with "single sock basket" which I'd say is due for re-pairing as the missing ones are bound to have all got in there by now; corner also has a couple of boxes of track suits/casual stuff.

Also followed up a couple of enquiries for private work, 1 client very keen.

Came back from garage and cinema and chopped previously-sorted out old veg, so made soup while dinner cooking (actually cooked double last night as I knew we'd be out).

Phew - feel really virtuous!! Probably not much flying will happen again till Friday which is my next day off.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

g&b Hugs to you and your DD, I hope your ex OH sees sense about keeping in contact with DD. The separation may have been your decision but its bound to feel strange for awhile as you are use to his presence.
mumof2 Glad to hear DD is ok and well done on ignoring the offending person on the other forum.
skintbreeder your daughter sounds like mine come friday she is to be found wizzing round with hoover in the hope of getting her pocket money.
P enPencongratulations to your son on his place in Uni:T
msgnomeyWell done you on your weight loss.

Busy day today with OH being away DD and I bused it into work and college, so had to leave at an ungodly hour as the buses round here are so infrequent but it meant once we got off the we could sit and enjoy a coffee together before heading off in separate directions.

So flying had to wait until I got home tonight and I manage to get most of it done whilst waiting for dinner to finish cooking. Following dinner I did as quick S&S of the kitchen and bathroom.

I'm in college tomorrow so hopefully will get the list started completed in the morning before leaving as I have to call into work afterwards, so I will be late home.

Just got text from DH saying all OK so thank goodness for that. Once again, many thanks for all your support; I know I can't talk to any of you but it's comforting to know you've been thinking of DD. Bet she's worn out now - I know I am!

Great news Mumof2 - have a stiff drink now, you deserve it.

    evening!!

went to SW to get weighed in, Stayed the same which is not bad for the past 2 weeks!!! back on track now, sadly DD put on 4.5 and she's down in the dumps anyway so that didn't help :(

    Night all

That's wonderful msgnomey - if you can achieve that over Christmas and the New Year, then you really are onto a winning formula! :T

And so you should! I'm exhausted just reading it :T

Skint - ha ha! DD3 the little tinker! Method in her madness, eh?

mineallmine - sounds like you're getting there with turning your "spare" room into a "hobby" room.

Let's have a look at tomorrow's list then:-

Wonderful Wednesdays - Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1
    Check fire alarms are working
[STRIKE]Remove and wash bed linen.[/STRIKE] Did it Sunday
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
[STRIKE]Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen, air the bed if possible Did it Sunday
15 minutes floordrobe clearance [/STRIKE] Daily job
    Level 3
[STRIKE]Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing[/STRIKE] Did it Sunday
[STRIKE]Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed [/STRIKE]Pared down to it's minimum state
Clear a hotspot., or spend 15 minutes clearing one. Will do my filing tray in the Study
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
    Clean windows in these rooms
[STRIKE]Check the airing cupboard, anything that is way past it's use by (maybe recycle for rags if possible, you could donate old sheets oor towels to a local animal rescue for bedding)[/STRIKE] Pared down to a minimum
Clean tops of wardrobes and drawers (if safe to do so, no pregnant flyladies on ladders please delegate the job instead)
[STRIKE]Check through undies drawers, anything more holy than the church which needs to go/be repaired? Anyone need anything replacing?[/STRIKE]
Give everyone at home a bag to collect the things which belong to them that are not where they should be, give them 15 minutes to find them all and put them away You could threaten to bin whatever is left if they don't seeing as everyones being quite ruthless this week

Not too much to tackle thankfully as I'm working all day, so should manage to cross a few more off. Can't believe how much my home has changed thanks to this thread. I now have spare time to do the things I want to do, rather than spending spare time procrastinating about what needs doing and actually doing nothing.

    Evening all :)

I've skimmed through most of the threads and glad to hear that Mum2two (if I've got the name wrong, sorry) 's DD's head is ok.

I like to cross off what I've done and leave what I haven't to rollover, however, given my current commitments and how OCD I can be .... I am going to concentrate on what I have done instead .... and realise that there is always next week ....

    So ....

    1 x WM
    1 x TD
    1 x DW

Hand washing up done and put away.

Lunch and dinner prepped and consumed without resorting to takeout .. trust me, an achievement in its own right !!

Stairs hoovered down from top to bottom.

DH has decluttered one of his piles-of-doom (a major achievement :) ).

DD counted all our loose change .. it's all the odds/sods which I put into a jar ... £13.13 :)

DD's pinafore mended on the same day that it was "broken".

    2" of DD's new jumper knitted :)

Took a dive into the freezer and worked out tomorrow night's dinner and started a menu plan for the rest of the week.

Took a walk after work ... ok, so mainly I went and mooched around Lidl and Asda and compared prices, spend = nothing :)

    Tomorrow my aims are:

    1. Go to the market and top up veg and see what meat is available.
    2. HHI
    3. Paperwork - Half hour
    4. Do more than 6000 steps
    5. Bake something .. anything .... !

and take a look at what the Wednesday list is ....

  • Glad to here good news Mumof2!

I am here lurking - honest! Had a nice long bath with DS with every single bath toy that he owns allowed in the bath tonight (it suddenly struck me that it might be last chance for some considerable time) and some "quiet TV for a good boy" as he calls it.

I did fold just 4 towels and put them away on the rationale that having the bath DS and I made 2 towels very very wet, so I am at least two towels up than I was before.

Adjustment on jaw at hospital today meant that I hadn't consumed as much food as I should have done, so my blood sugar was low after a nice warm bath:eek::eek::eek:, no time for cooking so I made and inhaled a bowl of soggy cornflakes instead ;)

DD3 has been reminded she is not being hard done by......she got a very expensive hoody just a fortnight ago, which she was told was covering both events. Her dad will be doing her bash with her mates which will no doubt cost an arm and a leg, but I refuse to enter into a gift showering match as "proof" of my love and affection.

She doesn't know it yet, but DD1:A has bought her some very nice outfits out of her student loan without going too crazy, so she will at least have something to open in the morning.

Going to take DS to have his hair cut after nursery tomorrow, as it has been on my mind to do, as it keeps getting in his eyes:o apart from getting more meds tomorrow there is pretty much an empty diary, so I should have just enough spoons to make it to bedtime:D

right time to make the most of DS while he is in his own bed....see you in the morning
The cold never bothered me anyway
  • Hi there. I've not had chance to post today, but have just had a quick read through.

Mumto2, I'm so glad it's good news about your DD. What a worry for you and how sweet was your DS! You'll be relieved she is safely back home and I hope you are all getting a good night's sleep.

Speaking of which - hi Skintbreeder - I'm still up too! Only just got to bed, so am having a read through! I hope all goes well for your DD's birthday and hope you stay well, too. Don't do too much!

Hi to all newbies and good flying! I've had a busy day: cooked two casseroles, cleaned kitchen, washed two throws, sorted some drawers out and some paperwork, all before lunch, then went to work.

Had an hour on my Ipad tonight, then a half hour nap before our meal. Played with the cats, scrubbed all their bowls, then a lovely programme we'd recorded about the late, great Roy Orbison, before yoga and bed! We've just started a yoga DVD after Christmas and my legs feel better already.

Good vibes, especially good health vibes to all. Lamewolf, I hope your fingers and hands soon feel better. R x
