Sorry, bonnie, we'd love to help but are just too far away from you (about 60 miles north of London) to make the day trip. Seriously, gardening is not DH's thing at all (except that he does mow the lawn :A), and I am finding it hard to stay in control of the medium-sized garden we have now, so our next home will probably have just a small lawn and very little else apart from climbing plants to cover the fences (so that I don't have to bend over too much) and tubs of annuals and bulbs. I do love my garden, but I have to be practical now

BTW, my DH is very chuffed to know that you referred to him as "mr ionafan" - he really feels that he has "arrived" I suspect that he and Mr GI have much in common: money problems (fortunately now all in the past - MSE has reformed him, thanks :money:), depression, illness, difficulties at work... You are not alone in your defence of your DH, GI.

I see the new thread has arrived - thank you Dusty - will wander over and find out what's in store for us this coming week :j
