    Hi all

Bossy glad yesterday went as well as could be expected, given the circs - what a lovely family you have.
Having had the week from hell I was going to moan about it but I can see that some of you have it far worse so hugs to those who want one

Dorajar - I think you need to soak some kitchen roll in vinegar, wrap it round the taps for about half hour, then brush round with an old toothbrush and rinse it off, but I'm sure a more experienced flylady will be along to confirm this!
Yep, I agree. I soak a jay-cloth in vinegar and wrap it round - I also do this if it's the tap spout that's scaled up - using a jay-cloth rather than kitchen roll, it doesn't disintegrate. I keep the leftover vinegar from Mr LW's pickled onions and use that (he goes through at least a jar a week) and it seems to so a pretty good job.:o

Shower is all done; it's really nice. Sad cat that I am, I'm actually looking forward to washing my hair tomorrow morning!:rotfl:I was a but nonplussed when one of the plumbers had his young lad with him (not sure how old - guessing about 10?) but he wasn't a nuisance, and made a fuss of Jessie.:o Thank the gods Mr LW was here though, I would not have coped without him! Hi
Thanks all for the kind words!

Not a lot done today, took kiddies out to DD dance class, was her first one, and great fun. DS joined in too, in parts, so bit of energy run off there. Came home, made scrambled egg brunch then straight back out for DS football. He joined in! (Mostly). I explained to the guy who runs it about his dad, and how he's a bit unsure with a lot of men, but we took uncle S along for moral support, and he got stuck in so that was great. He gets his kit next week.
Then home again, and my mum arrived, so we chatted for an hour, then she took my brother to the train station, and I got the kiddies off for a nap. And here we are (maybe I fell asleep too :o) I'm about to go wake them, they'll be hungry!

My brother made his bed :A but I've laundry to be getting on with, and other bits and bobs to get us tidy. Catch you all later on!

Today is a washing day. Lots to get done. I've been out to take DD2 to gymnastics but avoided going into town as I don't want to spend any money unnecessarily.

Lots of gibble has been dumped in the MB so I'm going to sort it out now.

Oh whoops. Turns out I spoke too soon. The cat was right and we were wrong - it wasn't the sound of rain in the back alley behind the boiler that was bothering the cat. Cat 1, Mouse 0. Now all I have to do is find the corpse, because he's a bit fussy about what he eats and it's not where I thought he'd leave it. Double whoops.
    Better is good enough.
  • Glad you got through the day yesterday bossy xx

Hope things get better for you helen jelly xx

    Huggles all round!! :grouphug::kisses::grouphug:

valli I listened and it was very funny; I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed listening to Radio 4 and especially the News Quiz so I'm another one saying thank you :A

I've found it hard this week keeping to a routine, I don't know why really, I just don't seem to be able to focus on anything for any decent length of time :o

Please do kick me up the backside if you wish :D

More washing to sort, then I'd better think about supper I suppose.

  • Good evening everyone  Just going to see what last stray jobs need doing on my list, then out with friends to another friend's house for dinner and a "couple" of glasses of wine :D If my list is done, I can go with a clear conscience and have a lie-in tomorrow :j:j:j:j

Mine was the last clip so read by the announcer, Susan Rae (I think)

DS1 and I have photographed his bed for ebay and completely cleaned his room I've also done the landing.

Still feeling a bit overwhelmed by what needs doing and a bit concerned about the snow forcast here for Monday. DS2 has an exam on Tuesday, his school will open, I think I'll have to drive him in though. Will have to wait and see.

Dinner next and I may just spend the evening reading rather than more jobs.

done pretty well today, motivated by the thought of a day out tomorrow (weather permitting!!)

menu written, shopping shopped!! put away
    kitchen cleaned
    upstairs hoovered
    bins emptied
    LR tidied
    plants watered
    bathroom cleaned and hoovered
    study tidied
roast dinner cooked and eaten (pork nomnomnom)
friend taken home (came for tea)

Now about to start some planning for school and hope to get to bed at a reasonable time!!!
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
  • Evening all, can't believe the time....
I've been flying hard, my bedroom and DD's bedroom have been done (DD got rid of loads, she's growing up so fast), hall hoovered, wm x 3, td x 2, dw on and another load ready for going, boys all bathed, DD in bath now, clothes all picked out for tomorrow, car washed and cleaned out. :D

Still need to put clean clothes away, more washing, iron clothes for tomorrow, clear livingroom, S&S kitchen, sort snacks for morning, get bathed and sort my hair.

We're for a christening tomorrow so need everyone ready to leave by 9.30am then a party after.

Right better go get more done.
