Valli, that's terrific! I love the News Quiz. Speaking of Radio 4, there was an extraordinary programme on at 11.00 am this morning about restorative justice. I found myself completely glued to it and ended up in tears - fabulous radio, for anyone who has Iplayer and 30 minutes.
    Better is good enough.

    Evening all ...

Firstly, GI big {hugs} and you're doing great, fingers crossed for you.

Well, this is my first week back and whilst I haven't actually completed any list, I have done more than I would have without the lists, so thank you :)

    Today I have:

Attacked the paperwork pile of doom and rationalised it dramatically
    Washed the spare bedlinen
    HHI
Put the non ironing away (oh ok, so I sorted it and got DH / DD to put it away, but that counts, right ?!)
Wrote a semi mealplan and got DD to contribute her ideas

This weekend, apparently, I need to make a female Viking's outfit ?
I thought the whole thing about being a grown up meant no homework ... I've done more research on what Vikings wear than I've ever done ....
Done some extra work, to put towards time-in-lieu for half term :)

Right, now it's time to declutter another episode of Grey's Anatomy, I can't believe I missed this whole drama !

Bossymoo, you have a lovely caring family. Glad you have coped so well today with their help - another milestone reached on your journey.

GI, I am so sorry to hear of your problems. Can't offer any advice, but hope you will get the support you need, and fast.

Skint breeder, I am on tenterhooks! Go steady this weekend... fingers and everything else crossed that Skintbaby can wait till at least Sunday.

So what was the cutting about, Valli?

LW, good luck with the plumbers tomorrow. Calming vibes heading your way.

I have not had a particularly good flying day, despite being up bright and early to take DH to work so that I could have the car. I put tonight's meal in the SC, managed to get rid of about 100 emails from my inbox, cleared a big hotspot in my study and then began sorting the stuff to go to the CS from that which is to be eB@yed / car-booted. That all took me nearly 2 hours. Then I sat down to write an email to my colleague about something that had been bothering me about the job we're currently working on together, and that also took me well over an hour - but it has clarified my thoughts, which is a major achievement. Finally left home at midday, dropped off bags at CS and chatted to a friend who works there, went into town, paid in cheques at the bank, picked up DGS2's birthday present (half-price in the JL sale - very MSE), bought a few little bits and pieces that I needed, looked for nice-but-cheap curtains but didn't buy any, got home at 2.40 just before DH walked in, sat down and promptly fell asleep on the sofa for 3 hours

On the bright side, DH has been invited for interview for a new job next week and has also found another to apply for :)
I'm not at all sure that the first one is right for him (or even that he will be medically fit enough to do it) but the second sounds more promising.

Have spent this evening watching TV, sorting buttons and looking online at houses for sale with DH.

Tomorrow will hopefully be a more productive day!

    Nice one! :rotfl:

I went to bed at the normal time last night and got to sleep pretty quickly despite the 3-hour sleep I'd had in the afternoon. Of course, just because it's Saturday, I've woken up at the time the alarm usually goes off. DH is still away in the land of Nod :p

It's a zero-insertion fee weekend on eB@y for auctions with a starting price of £1 or more, so I'd better start [STRIKE]getting rid of [/STRIKE]recycling some of my gibble. Can't do much until it's light enough to take decent photos, though. More :coffee: first, methinks!

Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) and spoons to all who have woken up still feeling rotten.

Up early to go to Mr T to stock dd up for going back to uni tomorrow. just S&S the bathroom and thought I'd ask the best way to descale the taps? Everything looking much better with the flying and although I clean the bathroom regularly, I haven't specifically descaled the taps when it comes on the lists. Any help on Thu would be appreciated. Thanks

    Morning everyone.

Dorajar - I think you need to soak some kitchen roll in vinegar, wrap it round the taps for about half hour, then brush round with an old toothbrush and rinse it off, but I'm sure a more experienced flylady will be along to confirm this!

Well yesterday I don't think I posted at all but I was very productive in the flying before the paid stuff. I did the dailies and cleaned the bathroom. After the paid stuff, nothing except making tea (and I did wash up straight away).

This weekend I don't really have a lot that I have to do:

    Post fleabay parcels
Go to farm for veggies (DH is doing main weekly shop)
    Walk dogs
    Hoover/sweep/mop through house
    Make Yorkshire puddings

I'm just going to see how the weekend progresses. Have a good day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning all, kitchen got a good clean yesterday and i even done the cooker..:j

DS3 woke me this morning after being sick in his bed and his bedroom floor. Not sure yet if it's the dreaded bug or a one off so i'll see how he goes today. :( I really hope we don't get the bug through the house.

Plans today is livingroom/front hall and bathroom and anything else will be a bonus. School uniforms can go in the wash now. :D

Which part needs descalling? If it is the body use jazee's advice. If it is the bit where the water comes out - small bag with vinegar in elastic banded over the tap so the end is in the vinegar, leave overnight if necessary.

DH has stomache pains, very unusual for him.

    Plan for the weekend:

    [STRIKE]Food shop
    Take DS1 to Chiropodist
    Collect parcel[/STRIKE]
    Take stuff to scrap store
    Dust bedrooms 1 done
    Take pictures for ebay
    Change beds 2 done
    Finish financial paperwork
    DS3 homework
Thank you notes must be done today!
