I have adopted Valli's approach and it seems to be working.............

I have started saying this every day on numerous occasions & last night I went into my DD's bedroom to check it was tidy and it was and all her wardrobe doors were closed:eek: (she has a habit of leabing them all wide open which is a bugbear of mine)

Thanks - seen them now; I think I'd deffo end up flat on my behind if I tried those!!:eek::eek::rotfl:

Macpep A thousand apologies, I did read yesterday's posts, but with the plumbers here, I didn't take a lot in. The hamper sounds a lovely idea, but I'd steer away from dietary supplements, as they may not mix with Auntie's meds, or may not suit for other reasons (f'r instance, I can't take capsules unless they're non-gelatine). Benecol goodies should be OK though I would have thought; Mr LW has the little yogurt drinks, as he has high BP and a tendency to highish cholesterol, and he loves them. Can you surreptitiously find out what she currently uses? If it was me, I'd thank someone for a supply of Tiger Balm, joint-soothing foam bath (I like ones with rosemary in) and a new pair of fingerless neoprene gloves, but again, for some people those gloves make the pain worse; it's a very individual thing. Sorry I'm not a vast amount of help; I'm on the "big guns" for pain these days, ie morphine, but I personally find a good hot soak followed by an application of Tiger Balm the most helpful for squeaky joints.

  • Good afternoon

Sorry to report but things are no better here :( I am making DH work very hard. I am taking control of everything, and telling him what to do :p We sat the kids down and explained things to them. I thought DS was going to lump him one, but gave him a hug instead!! DH is on his way back from Ipswich, where he has been explaining things to DD1. I have spoken to her, and she is very upset.
We went to the doctors yesterday, and they are sending someone round this afternoon from mental health  At least this shows that he took us seriously.
The money side of things are far worse than I thought.:mad::mad: I am going to march him down to the CRB on Monday morning (our first opportunity) to see what they say. I really don't know what else to do. He has already borrowed money from his family (without me knowing ) and I believe he has used those companies on the telly  (I told you it was bad!) I am at my wits end. I think the money side of things is worrying me most at the moment, as I don't want to lose everything.
    Sorry - I am ranting again :o

LR has been hoovered & 1 load in WM. I had a lady round this morning to go over funding contracts. I am embarrased to say that I offloaded to her and sobbed in the kitchen. Poor woman. I had never met her before!! She said that I may be able to get funding to finish my course.

School run time. Catch up later

GI you poor lamb, I'd be alternately sobbing and screaming in your situation. All I can offer is a huge barrow-load of coping vibes and my very best wishes for a swift and good outcome to a nightmare situation. I know it doesn't solve anything, but have a Wolfy (((HUG))) to tide you over for the moment.

  • Thanks LW. :)A wolfy hug is always appreciated.

    Ditto GI, big hugs.
Sounds like a lot of people needing support today, team hugs all round.

I haven't started flying yet; remembered to get up early enough to put diesel in the car on the way to the gym - just as well, as I wouldn't have actually got to the gym! And I realise how bad that sounds, "car" and "gym" in same sentence ....just blame geography and rural living! Had guitar lesson after gym (gym was hard work as I missed last week and only once the week before. But put 3lb on over Christmas so need to tackle it). Came home and filled bird feeders - hey, that's flying? Anyway about to embark on coffee after later lunch so suspect flying will begin at 3pm. Today's a bit off list but should include:
    - checking site to see why tax office sent me a return reminder when as far as I recall they already told me I didn't need to do one this year
    - email about some freelance work
    - tackle paperwork piles in kitchen
    - go through single sock basket and marry a few pairs off

Not going to be too ambitious or I'll end up feeling too guilty.......
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

Thanks, thats helped a lot, I will make her up a wee mini hamper with the benecol stuff (its too expensive for her too buy as she is on her own) and some of the balm you mentioned , read epsom salts help a lot, so will get that too along with a little gift card for both H & B and Boots, not sure of the gloves, she wears splints on her wrists and hands when she is home, its such a shame she was always so active and is only 54 :(. Thanks so much LW, you have helped a lot :A
