Afternoon all
I have had a quick read through the thread but my cottonwool brain is not taking anything in.
Elle-wood ((((hugs)))) it sound like it been a really hard week.
Oh and dogs arrived back late yesterday. He was a little strung out as he was almost involved in an RTA. As the drived of a car in the opposite lane lost control of his vehicle. Thankfully no one was hurt but as this was in a ruralk area they had to wait a while for the police to arrive and take statements.
Both dogs appeared happy to be home and insisted on trying to sit on my knees. Not easy when you consider that between them they weight over 60KG.
Today we took the dogs for a nice long walk and the chill in the air always makes the younger one a little crazy. No we are back home and OH has gone to see his DS and I have given the house a quick S&S.
I ate a frog yesterday by sorting out the corner of our bedroom which has become the dumping ground for clothe to go to charity. Though I do need to still tackle my floordrobe.0 -

I'm still sticking to chewing my frog - not done yet but getting there. I will finish it today - but this will be at the expense of all the other things I was planning - never mind I'll be glad to see it done.
Think I'll cancel boys GP appointments for tomorrow and Tuesday. Neither are urgent and I'm not traipsing up there in the snow (if it comes). The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
We've done it :j:j
We've cleared the garden before the snow comes :T:T
Umpteen bucketloads of leaves have been swept off the patio and lawn and [STRIKE]dumped back over the fence[/STRIKE] returned to the oakwoods whence they cameand I have got rid of all the dead stalks of Michaelmas daisies from the border (we've got a lot of Michaelmas daisies!)
DH :A even cleared out all the empty plastic flowerpots which were a major leaf trap round the side of the house nearest to the woods, and very smelly.
The robin enjoyed pecking over the disturbed earth, and the long-tailed tits flew down to keep me company as I was refilling all the bird feeders - I don't want to go outside tomorrow if it's freezing, as the patio is wet from where I washed out some big pots, and I suspect that it will ice over
2 hours' hard very work, but we started in sunshine, and the nicest thing was that it was still light at 4.20 when I finished
Spring is coming
Now we can be lazy this evening :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Cat still seems a bit too interested in the boiler area for my liking. Fridge defrosted, load of washing churned and pegged out as it's not raining. Frog munching continuing. It's going to be an interesting, busy week.
Hugs to Elle, GI and Helen Jelly and anyone else who needs one. Thanks to Life Unexpected for the tumble dryer fluff info and everyone who mentioned the free Ebay listing weekend. Hang on in there Soon to be Skint.Better is good enough.0 -

Huge apologies for not being about health gone a bit more downhill than usual. Got breast abscess which burst and got bug on top of that. Currently on 2 lots of antibiotics and usual bug meds. OH is over to help look after me.
My flying has mostly consisted of dishes when I'm able. I did take delivery of stuff I got in sales. New pans as when I moved in here a couple of years ago I got the cheapest I could find and they are rusted badly now. Also got new plastic storage boxes to store the rest of pulses and stuff in so hopefully cleaner and tidier kitchen. Won't be doing much flying next week but normal service should be resumed week after that.Sealed Pot Challenge 6 - 20580 -
Hello - only me
Thank you everyone for your support & kind wishes. My situation will not improve quickly - of that I am sureBut it will improve - I am going to make sure of it!
Bed has been stripped and washed (needs to be remade - hopefully before bedtime!). Dog walked on the beach then did my weekly shop in @ldi (£35 - yay! go me!) DH has sorted out the tins cupboard & made an inventory, and started on the freezer. Spag bol on (with extra hidden veg to 1. increase veggie intake - esp for the kids - and 2. to make the meat go further!). We have not had big appetites, but there will be plenty to go in the freezer for another day

Good wishes all round, especially to Elle - I'll add my thoughts to those already here - thinking of Ionafan's and Lamewolf's, amongst others, who always have sensible, and kindly opinions. Elle, you have to do what is right for you and the children, and even if comments made by the family are meant well, it's your marriage and you have to do what's right in YOUR circumstances right now.
I was given that advice years ago, when dealing with a similar situation, and still stick to it now, if you have thought everything through, and gone through all your options, you do what in your heart is best for you. I do hope things soon pick up, including the banking issue, and I send lots of 'coping' vibes your way right now. It doesn't seem so, but it will get better. X
Good vibes too, to all those going through similar times; now I'm older I am more settled, and have a nice OH, a comfortable home and a stable income, but remember the hard times, the despair, the cold, lack of money, lack of decent housing, and it does upset me to hear of others having to go through such miserable situations. But, I truly believe things go round in cycles, in fact I know it, so the stable, peaceful times will come round - let's just hope it's sooner rather than later for those dealing with problems now.
You are very wiseI will be sticking to this as I am sure there will be plenty of people who will be telling me what I should & shouldn't be doing in the coming weeks and months regarding my DH and will have plenty of opinions. I will do what I think is right for my family. He has enough enemies out there, he needs his family
He may be an idiot, but he is MY idiot
Unfortunately, up until this week, I thought we were comfortably off as wellHow things can change in a week!!
Big (((hugs))) to Elle, and helen jelly, please don't worry about off loading on hereWe can all help each other. I love it here!! :T It really helps me
DH is making a list of all his music equipment so we can see what is worth selling. It is his pride and joy, but needs must. The future of his golf clubs, Star Wars collection & vinyl collection is also in the balance!!0 -
Good to hear you in fighting mood GI  I agree with everyone who says do what you feel is right for you and your family. We'll be here for you xx
tarotangel I hope you feel much better very soon xx
I've just had to catch my breath again after watching Gareth Thomas on Dancing on Ice  I do like looking at hunky men
I've cooked a nice dinner and left a nice mess in the kitchen while I [STRIKE]perve[/STRIKE] watch the ice skating.*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0
