Been a while since I have posted again but been exhausted last few weeks and not really made any progress on the money making front!

Infact had a set back as found out I didn't pay my Tesco credit card bill last month..... not sure how I managed it but I did! I thought I had nothing to pay on it as did a transfer but I have just had to pay off £133 on it and had to pay £125 off my Barclaycard as well.....:o

So no extra loan payments this month just the normal one and am trying to find an extra £100 as I need two tyres for my car.

Just had to tax it but that was only £30 for the year and I need to get my MOT done too but that will only cost me £2 via work, I need to get the tyres and MOT sorted before I tell boss I am pregnant though as he can be a right moody sod at best of times and worried he won't let me have it cheaper if he knows I am pregnant!

Problem is I don't have much to sell on eBay, got 1 item on their at the minute that will make me £30 hopefully and do have a couple of dresses I could sell that would net me another £40-£50 but I am relunctant to sell them which is stupid as I wont be wearing them this year, one I have brought and not worn at all anyway....:o

I should just bite the bullet though as I have to have the tyres and only other option is credit card.....and I need to clear the debts not make more!!! :o

Been rethinking overpaying the loan too......

Was chatting to a friend about it and shes got me thinking that instead of overpaying the loan each month I should put the money aside for when I am off on maternity leave which I am now considering because I have 7 more paydays off full pay before maternity pay kicks in and even if I pay off £1400 extra I will still have only cleared £2800 more off the loan leaving me £5000 left to pay on the loan and I won't be able to afford to pay £200 a month whilst on maternity leave as will only be getting £137 per week so might be best to put that £1400 aside to pay off the loan for 7 months of my maternity leave.

Means I have the loan longer but then I won't have to sell my car which I might have to do if I have no savings..... thoughts????

    Hello Lilmiss,

    Firstly congratulations!!! :D

Secondly I would agree to stop over paying the car and keep that money aside for any unforeseen things or like you say to make normal payments on your car whilst on maternity leave. To get out and about easier with a little one its a good idea to try keep hold of the car, you've worked hard for it already.

Had our 12 week scan on Thursday and theres definately a baby in there! :D

I do keep looking at the scan photo of our lil baby. :o. Cant wait until 20 week scan now! 2nd April!!!

Sooooo we do need to get cracking on with the house/clearing stuff out/trying to make some extra cash.

I have decided I want a steam mop....found one I want for £60 which has a detachable hand held part for cleaning other stuff than the floor but have £24 of Amazon Vouchers..... would like to try get some more vouchers for it though. But not sure I am that patient.

I need to start doing a list of 5 things a day to do or tidy away.

    So today I will

    1) Find some more clothes for charity shop
    2) Dig out some more items to sell on Facebook/eBay
    3) Clean out guinea pigs
    4) Try and find a money maker online
    5) Get OH to ring his parents/ex wife bout baby!

If you won't be able to pay the minimum payment during ML then I would definitely stop OPing now and setting the money aside for the normal payments then.

It must seem so sureal seeing the san pics! Hope you're keeping well.

Any luck with the new tyres?

PS. Not for everyone but I started working out how much the cars cost us each year - tax, insurance, tyres, the lot and then put a little aside each month for it in a savings account. Means I don't panic when I need a new set of tyres or my MOT is due now.

Luckily as I work in a garage most car related things are cheaper for me!

Although I am not planning on going back.... :o

Tyres I purchased even though I don't need them yet, will need to put them on before baby arrives.

I do need to put some money side for my insurance though.

Realistically if we have to sell the car we have to sell the car.... but I love my car and don't really want too. If I can save some money to cover the payments I can at least keep it whilst on maternity leave.

I need a car where we live, as its a 2 street village without even a shop!

I would love to move house before baby arrives but its not going to happen....

Pay day in 5 days! No money left now so will be another quiet/do bits around the house this weekend!

Missed work today as feeling poorly/exhausted, means losing a days wage but I am not pushing myself when pregnant if I don't feel up to it!

Just checked mortgage balance and its £101,964.0. Gutted we cant overpay it for at least another few years but it might be under £100k still by time we need to remortgage in June/July as will have made another 5 payments of £663 by then, I could work out the interest but cant be bothered! :rotfl:

So we will have about £70k equity for next house, shame we need about £120k equity to move where we want to move too!!!

Just checked house fund and its ok, got £1400 in there at moment, this will go up as we both get paid so its at the lowest it will be for a while, when I am on maternity leave we will need to keep a close eye on it!

So this is the list I posted six months ago and not much has been done really!

Its unlikely we will move before baby arrives (unless a rich old relative I never heard of dies and leaves me enough cash to pay off my debts and get someone in to fix up the house!!!).

I have got to start kicking OHs bum into gear though and to get him to show me bits I can help with too.

I would defo like for the house to be up for sale before end of May which gives us 3 months to sort things out, with working full time and OHs kids here half the time its difficult but I dont want to be here much longer especially with baby! :o

Payday in 2 days then I can work out my budget!!!

Stopping by to say hello :)
That is a big list - I would post my home improvement list but I don't know if I could bear to look at all the things I want to do and can't :(
Well done on those figures coming down - and according to our 12 week scan dates we are only 2 weeks apart from each other's due dates! Woo!
