  • Bah, as it turned out I spent £1.34 today on some part-baked baguettes. Meal plan for tonight has changed from meatballs with pasta, to meatball sub sandwiches with grated cheese (Mr KB's choice). Still, the total is at £292.04 which isn't too bad for the year, considering there's still one big shop left to do for the week (hopefully the last shop of the month)

    I'll update my sig now.

No spends today. Thankful for the home made freezer meals i have stored up for eating on days like today. Todays main meal for DD and DS is bean and veg stew type thing. Mine has been yeast extract on toast and yoghurt to follow. Snacking on seed mix, for humans rather than birds ;)

  • Did my weekly shop in Mr S on Tuesday cos I had a £3 off £20 voucher. I spent £26.36 which I was pretty happy with. Last night, I ordered my first online grocery delivery with Mr T because they have a £12 off £60 voucher so that will be delivered next Tuesday. It cost £51.70 and that will complete my grocery shopping for February, leaving me with plenty of household cleaning products and about 2 weeks worth of meat and fish.

In total, my spend for February has been £207.83/£210 :j

Delighted that I managed to keep within my budget in my first month and hoping to cut next month's spend down to £195.

NSD today. Yesterday I spent £39.52 in A**a, which I was very pleased with especially as I had a visitors for the weekend (mum and 4 yr old nephew) and they came shopping with me, my DS also came shopping too - eek - much more difficult to stick to the list. However it turned out to be easy as I gave them (the boys that is, not my mum) items each to fetch and we checked off the list together - I know how to show them a good time! Spent £39.52, which leaves £2.59 to last until Friday. Should only need milk so might just make it - not bad considering extra mouths to feed - it did help that MIL (she lives with us so had both mums at our house this weekend) treated us to Beefeater meal yesterday :)

Any way I'm feeling pretty pleased because I've definately saved money and thought much harder about what I'm buying this month - hope I can keep it up.

    March GC £435/£400
  • Failed this month by 8p! So annoying, a total spend of £180.08 for February's grocery challenge, I secretly expect that it was more than that but it went un-recorded so my challenge for next month is to keep better records and come in under budget, my new chest freezer should help with that!
