Hello all!
Spend of £5.45 in Mr S today on things for lunch for the next couple of days. Miss my leftover meals - ready mades just don't taste the same
Housemate is cooking tonight - simple meal (but missing these types of meals) of fish, mash and broccoli. Is also cooking tomorrow and Wednesday, so I don't need to do anything until Thursday, Friday and Saturday (when I'll go to Mr S to use my vouchers and get topped up!).
This month is short, but I've really struggled money-wise (which on the up-side has resulted in grocery spends being low out of necessity). I hope that the rest of the year gets better!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Another £22 to report here, putting me £21 over budget (give or take). Hopefully there will be no more spend now til the next GC, there's basically nothing left in my account, so lets hope this is the case! Still - will try harder next month, was only my first attempt, so I am pleased really to have not got it totally wrong!0

Declaring Feb at £158.10 which is just under our £160 budget. Had to get catfood today and got an economical 12 can pack and also couldn't resist some YS bread and bread rolls for the freezer. I cannot believe how our costs have mounted up in the last week or so. Scary:eek:
On the whole really pleased as we are slowly getting our spend down month on month and are managing to eat really well. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow :T
See you all over on March

Did a shop at Mr T yesterday - so that's another £29.81 gone!
Shouldn't need anything else before Friday, so I'm declaring at £148.49 spent from a £192.00 budget.
I had £52.98 left of my January budget, which equates to £1.71/day. Given February is 3 days shorter I was hoping for around the £48 mark left, but only have £43.51. However I stocked up a fair bit yesterday on stuff that could have waited until Friday, and as that came in at £13.52 I could have had well over £50 left meaning I'm more than happy with those numbers
Stil need to work out what percentage of my spends went on junk food/treats and compare that to last month though.......
EDIT : done some number crunching, and decided to put potatoes into 'general' rather than veg as they don't count towards your 5-a-day.... so I've also been back and recalculated January's figures which also meant adding in passatta which does count and hadn't been included!
as a percentage of my spend for the month, in January I spent 26.85% on junk/treats, 6.07% on fruit, 19.47% on veg, and 47.6% on everything else (fruit and veg combined = 25.54%)
as a percentage of my spend for the month, in February I spent 10.42% on junk/treats, 7.08% on fruit, 9.23% on veg, and 73.27% on everything else (fruit and veg combined = 16.31%)
Really pleased to see the spend on junk/treats has dropped as much as it has, but was initially freaked to see the veg spend had also dropped by half!! But then I realised that I stocked up on a couple of long-life veg items last month (bought a tray of chopped tinned tomatoes that'll last me several months, and bought frozen veg both ends of the month so didn't need to buy again until yesterday), so it doesn't necessarily mean that I've eaten any less.Cheryl0
