New running total stands at £231.39 - which leaves £68.61 to get us through the next 9 days. Very doable, seeing as I've only just got the weeks shop in! Yippee! Looks like we'll be under this month, but I'll keep my fingers crossed just in case. When it's dark, look for stars. When it's raining look for rainbows.

Forgot to pop in at the end of Feb to account for our spending for the month: £353.75 / £350. Not bad. Still trying to get DH to understand that junk is expensive! Off to the March thread...0

I have been AWOL again as I have just been so busy! Happily I am working and I have discovered a way of controlling my overcooking habit! As I run my own home and someone elses I double cook(as was my norm)on occasions and I give them half of it! Well-give is the wrong word-I cook for them and I add it to the household bill-they are happy with that! I am running down my cupboards and shelves a little at long last as I am slowly adjusting to us being a 3 person household and not a five person one. It certainly takes some adjustment! I still have receipts to put in my book and start totting up but I do know I am spending a lot less on groceries. I've just invested in an offer of 5 fruit trees and 3 blueberry bushes which will arrive soon. Unfortunately got double charged!!! along with the fruit trees I already have I should have a huge supply in the future. DS and DD seem to buy junk food out side recently(it is not on my list). I wish they didn't but it means I cannot really do a menu plan worth sticking to. So----I am going to start just thinking of myself! There is still plenty in the freezer if they want to eat REAL food. Some days I have been eating fridge scraps to avoid waste and my frozen bread has certainly helped me not to waste. Today I've got out some peas beans carrots and one pork chop for me and a couple of burgers for DS. DD going out so little needed. I have also thawed out some frozen apples so I will make a crumble with those. I've also bought gardening supplies to grow toms and cucumber like hubby did(RIP)but I am no gardener! I am determined to become one though over the next few years so that I am fairly self sufficient.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Feeling a bit behind as it seems everyone else has completed February's month, but mine doens't end until 14th! So today's shop and few other bit shops takes my total up to £265.39/£300 so far. Shouldn't need much else than bread but won't put final total up until 14th.When it's dark, look for stars. When it's raining look for rainbows.
