    Hanging my head in shame, I have blown the budget. Declaring at £501.89, I think (sig is right). Can not understand how this happened. I tallied up a week and half ago and was on target. I was very surprise because I thought I would be over. I should have double checked because that figure must have been wrong. :eek: Subsequent spends were based on that so over. Will try harder, much harder next month.

  • We are over budget by quite a lot. We've managed to spend another £12 since the last update to put us £9.36 over our budget of £50. I knew it was a tight budget but hoped for the best.
    Still that means January and February so far come to a total of £115.73 which is still good.

    Hoping not to spend anything more this month but won't put February total up until tomorrow night just incase.

    What type of meat should I buy for making my own ham for sandwiches? I know this probably sounds dumb but I'm not sure.... Gammon, ham, bacon, etc? What cut? We like quite lean and meaty ham in sandwiches if that makes a difference.... TIA
    I think I'm finally going to purchase the electric slicer I've been ogling on amazon....

    :o Lost my way this month but must confess to an epic fail for February:(

    Will try again in March and will hopefully find the time to stay focussed.

    Have decided to try shopping at the local market/discount stores to see if this will work out cheaper.

    The carrots were fresh, 8 medium ones in a bag for 50p so not too bad. Have finely diced two of the them for the shepherds pie we are having for dinner. I hate frozen veg - totally tasteless ;)
