The carrots were fresh, 8 medium ones in a bag for 50p so not too bad. Have finely diced two of the them for the shepherds pie we are having for dinner. I hate frozen veg - totally tasteless

Well a bit of a fail for me for my first challenge, just totted up - spent £195 on groceries! Don't expect to spend anything tomorrow, that's me for the month.
I know why, though. Had a pushbike accident meaning no more yellow sticker missions to Mr T's, didn't realise how much this has been saving me, especially on bread and veg - had to buy in Lidl and Grocers instead, which, although reasonably priced cannot compete with 90% off.
I plan to fix my bike tomorrow and get back on by March 01 and resume my mission.
I also did a bit of bulk buying in Costco before voucher book expired this Monday. 5 litres of Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil for £10.99 and 480 Yorkshire Tea Bags for £5.89 (I bought a years supply), that dented my budget but worth it in the long run.

Evening all. 3 NSDs here:D, but still spending more than I should. I need to get a grip.
HM beef stew and dumplings for tea tonight and probably something fishy for tomorrow as I will be calorie counting.

Evening.
NSD here again, and one more day until the end of my Feb Grocery Challenge. Unfortunately, a small change of plan means that I'll need to go shopping tomorrow to buy the ingredients for a pastitsio for 4 people so I'll combine it with the end of week shop and get enough to last us the weekend. I was hoping for a cheap end to the month but there you go! March will have to be cheaper!
Mum cooked us fish and chips tonight, bless her. Now I'm going to get a cup of hot chocolate and relax. Lots to do tomorrow!

Small spends today in Mr M- YS brown rolls 35p, savers strifry mix 50p, broccoli .35kg 86p, milk 2pt 89p.
Totals £2.60 and from memory I have £7ish to play with in the budget, with March obviously starting from Monday, so I should be totally fine as all I might buy tomorrow are some crisps for OH who has been stoically doing without all week :rotfl:
SO pleased that I should be under budget as mid-month I didn't think it was possible, given we made our special Valentine's sushi dinner, had a week off work to cater for with extra treats, OH's birthday and his mum coming to stay. And it's the lowest we've ever spent during a month we weren't away anywhere :j:j:j
Made mac and cheese tonight, with broccoli tossed through and a side salad (forgot to put in the picture):Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I've done miserably this month. Must be nearly 50 pounds over budget, but it has been a depressing month. Now i've had my final paycheck I can't afford to be over budget for March!0

Hello all!
Spend of £2.20 on BOGOF Covent garden soup for lunch. Will have the other one tomorrow (obviously with no bread). Very unusual flavour though - Baked potato with cheese and beans - basically blended and pureed. I liked it once I got over the different taste!
Used the rest of the jar of Nutella on toast this morning - next on the list to use up is a jar of jam...(along with Marmite when I need my savoury fix).
Housemate cooked chicken in a tomato, anchovy and rosemary sauce with giant couscous and tenderstem brocolli - lovely!
Tomorrow I'm going to do chicken in sundried tomato mustard ( got it as part of a Christmas present hamper) and sricaha (sp) chilli sauce with spring onions, mangetout and soy-beans with rice.
Just need mangetout (or maybe babycorn or green beans - depends how I feel tomorrow).
And then that...will....be....it!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
