Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:
  • I spent £4.95 at Lid1 the other day, leaving me with £16 for this weeks food budget. All I need to buy is fruit for the lunch box, and some cereal bars, so it's not all bad. Will probably give my end of month total after the weekend!

Nothing spent on groceries today (friday). Had some toast and jam for lunch and some chip shop chips tonight for supper. I had taken a tub of HM lentil soup from freezer for us to have today , but just didnt fancy it.

    Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

    NSD Challenge: October 0/14
  • I was hoping to have an NSD today, but I'll need to get bread and milk after not getting them yesterday (I had other things on my mind, like taking the huge bag of books to the charity shop and making lists). Now though, the priorities are back in place. :)

Today will see us having chicken supreme for tea (yes, using a packet mix as there's no way on this earth I'd feel confident cooking with cream - every time I've used it so far it has split). I'll also be making some of Nigella's breakfast bars from the Express book to go in the tin for the week.

    Have a lovely Saturday, everyone.

Great haul there Tess I love markets. I almost didnt go out yesterday as it was freezing cold and I was sneezing my head off
but was glad I did as the meat van reduced the 5.00 trays to 3 for 10.00. I got 1.3 kg minted lamb chops, 1 kg chinese pork steaks and 1kg diced chicken breast. Portioned up in freezer, enough for 30 odd meals. I then got 2lb grapes and a bag of 15 bananas for 2.50 so was well pleased.

Went to asda for cheese as on offer 2 for 4.00 and found load of reduced cereal at 50p so bought 4 packs of kellogs fruit and fibre, usually 2.00 each.

£6.88 spent on fruit & veg this morning so bringing total up to £140.91 spent so far this month with one more main shop to go plus any little top ups if needed. Didn’t get any beetroot to roast as the only ones thy had were already cooked so will try again in the week.

Really cold here again today although its sunny, still laid up so not going out again today. Have managed to get the beds changed and the sheets are outside. It will give them a blow at the least even if it doesn’t dry them properly.

HM mushroom soup for tea tonight with sandwiches. The Lamb Henry last night was a huge success and we all really enjoyed it. There is a small amount of meat left over so if it doesn’t get used up today it will go in the freezer for another day.

Tomorrow will be a NSD and I am soon going to be sitting down and watching the rugby. Cant abide football but I do enjoy rugby so off to wash some dishes before it starts.
