I'm going to stop reading this thread as i'm getting so angry. I'm so happy most of you have never been i the position that i was 18 months ago, if i tried to explain how i got £17k in debt you really would not have a single clue how a huge amount of people live.

have i said i agree with the banks .... no
the £35 charges are disgusting ..... the profits they make are obscene.
but we know it happens , we also know the charges , they are laid down in their terms and conditions
YOU ALL SIGNED THEM WHEN YOU OPENED YOUR ACCOUNTS ...
or do you not read
todays attitude makes me sick , you think you can take take take , i dont know what its like to be in debt, actually thats wrong, i do , when i was overdrawn and very deeply overdrawn at 18 years of age , i went to my bank in my suit and arranged a repayment plan.
i payed back the money i had TAKEN from my bank WITHOUT their consent.
Yes we get into trouble with finances, who doesnt , bt when you do take a deep breath and communicate with the bank, they are actually very understanding.
the alternative ? claim back your fees as if you taking the banks money was your god given right
THEN LET THE REST OF US FACE THE CONSEQUENCES
and do you think you are doing yourselves a favour, no because the banks will get their profits .... i will promise you that.
As for my halo ..... why shouldnt i wear one

I don't wish to be rude and I'm not trying to be judgemental, but that's a very impressive list of debts you had refunded there - didn't it cross your mind to keep a closer eye on your finances? Surely you can't blame everything on the Banks? You have take on some responsibility.pigginsexy wrote:Or a Judge (since most of the Judges these days are the shareholders in the Banks).
We can all have opinions, but i wish they would keep these ones to themselves.
I, like many other people on here, are hardworking. So explain to me, why we should let the bank have it in charges????????.0 -
Amyway, Martin is just giving you the facts. Banks, like any other business have to make a profit to stay in business. Maybe they'll now go after the'customers ' that can afford to pay.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

"Anyway I didn't deserve my charges I never asked for an overdraft so I do not think I should be getting charged at all when they have let me go overdrawn and then make me pay for it & like everyone else said, you've obviously never had any financial problems well woo hoo for you.

THATS THE ATTITUDE THAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY EXACTLY WHAT IT IS
I NEED NOT EXPLAIN0 -
Totally know where you are coming from, but nobody knows what is around the corner. What I would say is that when my husband was made redundant last October we made an appointment with our Bank, went through all our finances cancelled stuff we didn't need and cut our cloth accordingly. The Bank was sympathetic and the staff couldn't have done more to help - I trust them and their opinion, I was open and honest and the end result has meant a small AGREED overdraft, no interest and NO PENALTY FEES. Its not rocket science!!! Big thankyou to Barclays!trademark wrote:have i said i agree with the banks .... no

People who don't pay charges far out number those that do. The size of the charge is wrong.pigginsexy wrote:Madison's Mum. I agree, im logging off now, as not only making me ANGRY, i have better things to do than keep trying to justify why these bank charges are wrong to the few.0
