typical romantic town. ask travel agent for ideas. you could get some eurostar deals or fly in. some companies/hotels do something special if you tell them you plan to propose....

My fiancé proposed to me while we were throwing snowballs at each other :rolleyes: slightly odd/unexpected but there you go! I guess I did enjoy the element of surprise :rotfl:

whatever u do, make sure it is something that is thoughtful and sounds lovely when she is telling the tale of your proposal to your children 20 years from now lol...women also like to brag to their friends....sad but true lol

I love my husband dearly but he proposed to me when i was in the bath, with flu and a green face pack on, and then summed it up saying but please dont tell the kids yet and u cant wear the ring in case they notice and tell my parents before we tell them....which is fine however we hardly saw his parents anyways.

this was jan 1st 2000 and i knew he had the ring from xmas eve, still to this day dont know why he never asked me strike of midnight when we were standing on our fave lookout view over london watching the millenium fireworks!!....just in a way makes me feel i am not worthy of some thought if u know what i mean, especially as the bathroom wasnt even nice as it needed doing lol...maybe i am selfish ungrateful wench but was it so hard really? especially when he knew my ex asked me to marry him in the middle of the high st in the dark etc....ahhh men I will never understand them.

why can some of them manage to give the girl a fantasic memory yet mine never can *sigh*

it has some great deals - with all the trimmings of chocolates and champers at great prices - would have been better to wait for the off peak season though! We stayed at the Feathers in Woodstock - gourmet food and beautiful Blenheim Palace 2mins walk away - good luck!

Well guys,

I have made a decision. I am going to take her to the Eden Project where she has always wanted to go, and I have hired a yurt in a nice spot in a field of wild flowers.
I think it will be perfect and romantic.

I know you've already made up your mind, but have a look at the Lost Gardens of Heligan as well - not too far from Eden, and cheaper and quieter and there are some gorgeous spots there.

At the end of the day, as long as it feels like you've put a bit of thought into it, I'm sure she'll love it. It's a symbolic thing and NOT about how much you spend!

Oh and since us girlies love to talk about these things.....my OH proposed IN Tiffanys in New York.....his first choice was to come to the Arsenal v Spurs game (I'm Arsenal, he's Spurs) and propose to me there - thankfully his mate told him I wouldn't be impressed and to rethink that one.....his rethink was fab - especially as I got to choose my ring there too!!!!
